Fine Suits

The 23rd installment in the James Bond franchise surpasses the benchmark after only four days in nationwide release.

Sam Mendes' Skyfall grossed a healthy $11.3 million on Monday -- Veteran's Day -- boosting its domestic cume to $101.9 million after only four days in nationwide release.
From EON Productions, MGM and Sony, the 23rd installment in the James Bond franchise brings back Daniel Craig as 007 for a third time.
Skyfall opened in North America on Thursday in select IMAX and other large-format theaters, grossing $2.2 million. Debuting everywhere on Friday, the movie grossed $88.4 million for the weekend -- easily the top domestic opening for a Bond pic, not accounting for inflation.

Manchester United Swings To Quarterly Profit.

Will Soccer Royalty Score on Wall St.?

The English soccer club, which has a global following, posts record revenue for its fiscal first quarter.

LONDON - English soccer powerhouse Manchester United on Wednesday said it swung to a profit in its fiscal first quarter driven by higher revenue.
In its second earnings report since its IPO this summer, the club, which has a global fan base and calls itself "the world's most popular" soccer team, posted earnings of $32.5 million (£20.5 million). That compared with a year-ago loss of £5 million.

Revenue for the team known as the Red Devils rose 3.4 percent to a first-quarter record of $121 million (£76.3 million) driven by higher sponsorship, merchandising, digital media and match-day revenue. Match-day revenue benefited from hosting nine Summer Olympics soccer matches at the club's stadium.
But broadcasting revenue fell 37 percent. The company cited timing changes and its second-place finish in the English Premier League in the latest season, compared with the club's league win last year.
Manchester United reiterated its guidance for the full fiscal year of operating cash flow growth of 17 percent-20 percent and revenue in the $568 million-$585 million range (£350 million-£360 million).
"‘Manchester United had a record first quarter driven by our commercial operation, which continues to experience extremely strong global revenue growth in new media and mobile, retail merchandising and sponsorship," said executive vice chairman Ed Woodward.
He also lauded the team's "strong start" to the new English Premier League season, which currently sees it in the top spot.

Leo Messi Gets A Gun In His Face.

As a new father and someone who very much enjoys life, Lionel Messi probably didn't appreciate the part of his arrival at a Saudi airport on Monday that involved gun barrels in his face. (But that's just a guess. I wouldn't want to speak for him.)
Argentina traveled to Saudi Arabia for Wednesday's friendly and the team's televised reception at the airport at first appeared to be a rather typical welcoming of a team that includes Leo Messi. But while his teammates made their way through the crowded terminal with relatively little trouble, Messi himself instantly had an armed entourage.
Near the end of the clip below (around 3:05), Messi's armed guards come up against a crush of people trying to get near him, which pushed one guard's assault rifle right up against Messi's shoulder. It's moments like this when Leo just has to detach from reality and go to Legoland in his mind.

bradley-cooper-esquire-december-2012-cover-interview.jpg
This is, like, his best interview ever!
Bradley Cooper’s seksi self covered Esquire’s December issue, which means there’s a faboosh article on him!
In it, the actor cops to his arrest as a kid, talks about his childhood and brings tears to our eyes!
Grab a tissue and ch-ch-check out these touching HIGHlights:
On getting arrested as a kid:
“I put [my parents] through some hell, of course. I got arrested [for underage drinking] when I was 15."
On his heritage:
"I grew up in an interesting family. My father was Irish, and my mother was Italian. It's a rich tapestry. It's soaking in volatility. But I was raised well.”
On his mom and dad:
"My mom [Gloria] always said, 'Just call me. I wanna know where you are.’ We always had good lines of communication, me and my parents… My father was viciously smart and intellectually curious. We lived across the street from a movie theater. And he would always talk about all these movies, and when I was at the age of being able to appreciate them, he just started throwin' 'em my way. He was a huge Tom Courtenay fan.Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner was one of the first ones he showed me. And The Dresser. And Under the Volcano. He loved Albert Finney."
Aww! It looks like the love of movies is in his blood!
We can’t wait to peep the rest of this interview, because we can never have too much BC in our lives!

TODAY Revenge! The Jerk That Fired Ann Curry Gets Fired!

Karma's a bitch, ain't it??
NBC has just fired TODAY executive producer Jim Bell, the genius behind ethnicity cleansing firing Ann Curry.
In the past few Curryless months it's been clear that it was not the female anchor, but the show's mastermind that caused TODAY's massive ratings decline.
Jim's replacement is NBC News VP Alexandra Wallace — who will be the first woman to helm TODAY in its 60-year history. Yay progress!
This switch-up is especially important to Matt Lauer because, according to a show insider, the veteran anchor will have to take"significant pay cut" if the numbers don't come up.
Here's an idea for ratings gold: Bring Ann back!

Michael Jackson's personal assistant, for one, suffered financially and emotionally after his boss's tragic death and the cancellation of This Is It.
He is spearheading a class-action lawsuit against the parties he believes are responsible and owe them for losses and damages incurred.
Insurance Co. AEG hired Dr. Conrad Murray, who eventually killed theBeat It singer with a fatal dosage of prescription medicine. The doc was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

Uganda's Disgusting ‘Kill The Gays’ Bill ToBecome Law Next Month.

This is criminal, unjust, horrifying and it's actually
happening this year. We are stunned.
Despite international criticism, Ugandan Speaker
Rebecca Kadaga says her country's "Kill The
Gays" Bill will become law by December because most
Ugandans "are demanding it."
The law will redefine the criminalization of same-sex
relationships by dividing homosexuality into two
categories (aggravated homosexuality and the offense
of homosexuality), and assigning new, outrageous
penalties to these "crimes."
"Aggravated homosexuality" is defined as gay acts
committed by parents or authority figures, HIV-positive
people, pedophiles and repeat offenders. If convicted,
they will face the death penalty.
"Offense of homosexuality'" includes same-sex sexual
acts or being in a gay relationship, and will be
prosecuted by life imprisonment.
Several European countries have threatened to cut aid
to Uganda if it passes. Still, somehow the Speaker
considers the passage of this Bill a "Christmas gift" to
the population.
How the majority of a nation could approve these laws
is beyond our comprehension.
Our whole hearts go out to Uganda's LGBT community.
Their story is truly tragic.
