Toni Braxton Hospitalized
Toni Braxton is being treated in a Los Angeles hospital for health issues related to lupus, the Associated Press reports.
The R&B singer revealed the news via Twitter Friday, writing:
"Hey guys, I'm in the hospital for health issues related to Lupus & Blood clots, I will be home soon...Thanks for all the love&support! Xoxo."
After receiving an outpouring of support online, on Saturday Braxton shared the news that she would be released from the hospital.
Going home today! I have a nurse coming to the house for a couple days, maybe I can sneak out & see Diezel's 1st play "A Mid Summers Dream"
— Toni Braxton (@tonibraxton) December 8, 2012
Braxton was also hospitalized for health issues related to lupus in January, and made her lupus diagnosis public two years ago. Braxton also battles medical issues stemming from the narrowing of blood vessels in her heart.
She recently said on ABC's 20/20 the disease diminished her ability to perform and contributed to her filing for bankruptcy in 2010.
Braxton has won six Grammy Awards and sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Her 1996 sophomore album, Secrets, included the hits "You're Makin' Me High" and "Un-Break My Heart." Braxton also starred in Braxton Family Values, a WEtv reality show about her family. Her other acting credits include the television show Kevin Hill and the telefilm Play'd: A Hip Hop Story.

LAPD Apologizes to Notorious B.I.G's Family forAutopsy Release
The Los Angeles Police Department
has issued an apology to the family
of The Notorious B.I.G., after it
made the late rapper's autopsy
public without informing his relatives
ahead of time.
Police said the records relating to the March 1997 slaying
of the rapper, whose real name was Christopher
George Latore Wallace, were released prematurely
Friday, "due to an administrative error," the Los Angeles
Times reports.
"Robbery-Homicide Division detectives had intended to
notify Mr. Wallace's family prior to releasing the report,"
the LAPD said in a statement.
"Our detectives personally spoke with the Wallace family
[Friday] night, and apologized for not notifying them prior
to the release" said Capt. Billy Hayes, who heads the
Robbery-Homicide Division. "Obviously this has been a
challenging case for us to solve. We hope that witnesses
or other people with information will come forward and
give us the clues we need to solve this case."
A lawyer for the Wallace family had criticized the way the
autopsy was released.
The 23-page document the LAPD unsealed Friday
revealed new information about the slaying of the
Brooklyn rapper. Police hoped it would generate new
leads for the unsolved drive-by shooting that occurred as
Wallace sat in an SUV on Wilshire Boulevard.
The autopsy revealed the gunshot that killed Wallace
entered his right hip, cut through his colon, liver, heart
and part of his lung, before coming to rest in the area of
his right shoulder. He was struck by an additional three
bullets, though the report revealed officials could not
determine the order in which the bullets hit him.
Doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center performed
emergency surgery on Wallace after the shooting, but to
no avail. He was 24 at the time of his death.

PSY to Perform at White House as Scheduled After Apologizing for Anti-War Protest.
There's still hope of seeing President Obama dance
"Gangnam Style," after all.
In what was the first major bump in his path to American
pop culture dominance, Psy, the South Korean rapper-
meme, saw several videos of anti-American
performances he gave at protests against the Iraq war in
2002 and 2004 surface on the web. Following outrage
online, where his rap song-dance has racked up nearly a
billion views, the 34-year-old performer issued a
statement of apology; now, the White House has
confirmed that he will keep his slot at a special Christmas
concert scheduled to take place at the president's
residence on Sunday and be broadcast on December 21.
The lyrics of one song he performed in 2004 urged the
death of Americans who ordered torture for Iraqis. Psy
rapped the song alongside the heavy metal band N.EX.T.,
which originally wrote the lyrics.
That protest came in response to a South Korean
missionary being killed in Iraq, revenge for the country's
support of the American war there.
"As a proud South Korean who was educated in the
United States and lived there for a very significant part of
my life, I understand the sacrifices American servicemen
and women have made to protect freedom and
democracy in my country and around the world," he said
in his statement Friday. "The song I was featured in --
eight years ago -- was part of a deeply emotional
reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean
schoolgirls that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment
shared by others around the world at that time. While
I'm grateful for the freedom to express one's self, I've
learned there are limits to what language is appropriate,
and I'm deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be
interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have
caused by those words."

Malaika Rescues 9ice From Ejection On London Bound Virgin Flight!
Monday November 19 2012 will forever remain a date to
remember in the life of the dwindling in popularity
musician- Abolore Akande widely known as 9ice who
nearly suffered 'a public embarrassment'.
We gathered that he was 'ejected' from a london bound
Virgin Atlantic flight when seemed not to be too sure of
knowing the rule of the game in flying.
But the treatment was reversed by another musician-
Fuji artiste Sulaimon Alao, more popular with the stage
name Malaika.
A source divulged to www.nigeriafilms.com that, the
duo were adjudged late for the flight.
Their names were announced, and their luggages
offloaded when they were not seemed to be around.
"But some of the flight attendants recognised Malaika's
name- they quickly sent a vehicle to convey him to the
flight and his baggages were put back on board," a
source revealed.
"They didn't know 9ice was the Abolore Akande
mentioned along with his name so Malaika requested
same treatment for 9ice," another source disclosed.
Another vehicle was dispatched to pick him and his
luggages returned on board as well.
Sources divulged the duo made the flight to London-
where Malaika was on a musical tour.
It is not clear what 9ice's mission was in London.

How I Became A Billionaire – Mrs Folorunsho Alakija,World's Richest Black Woman
A Nigerian billionaire oil tycoon, Fashion designer and
philanthropist who is worth at least $3.3 billion, 61-year-
old Folorunsho Alakija, was born into a wealthy,
polygamous Nigerian family.
In the early 80s, Alakija quit her job and went on to
study Fashion design in England, returning to Nigeria
shortly afterwards to start Supreme Stitches, a premium
Nigerian fashion label, selling high-end Nigerian clothing
to fashionable wives of military bigwigs and society
women.
Oil Prospecting License
In May 1993 Alakija applied for an allocation of an Oil
Prospecting License (OPL). The license to explore for oil
on a 617,000 acre block – (now referred to as OPL 216)
was granted to Alakija's company, Famfa Limited. The
block is located approximately 220 miles South East of
Lagos and 70 miles offshore Nigeria in the central Niger
Delta.
Alakija was intelligent! She had no expertise or
experience in running an oil field, but she decided not to
sell off her license. In September 1996, she entered into
a joint venture agreement with Star Deep Water
Petroleum Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Texaco) and appointed the company as a technical
adviser for the exploration of the license, transferring 40
percent of her 100 percent stake to Star Deep.
Till date, Folorunsho Alakija and her family owned 60
percent.

How Omotola and Genevieve Were Tricked To Act In IJE.
Unlike the popular saying that 'when two elephants fight,
the grass suffers', the case is not the same with the two
elephants in the contemporary Nigerian film industry
called Nollywood; Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and
Genevieve Nnaji as there seems to be no grass that
suffers as a result of the rivalry.
Though, there have really not been an open
confrontation between these two talented and Africa's
queens of the movie world, but it is clear that there is an
unwritten rivalry between them mainly brought about by
their respective fans.
What makes their rivalry healthy unlike the rivalry
witnessed among Fuji musicians in Nigeria is that their
fans may have had a better understanding that it is
better to keep the rivalry healthy rather than brutal like
the Fuji fans.
Interestingly, both have acted in more movies as sisters
than any other rivals in Nollywood. So, when both acted
again as sisters in Ije, a movie by Chineze Anyaeze,
which was her project work at the film school, many
wondered how Chineze convinced the two screen divas
in acting together again as sisters in the film.
Revealing how she achieved the feat, "When I was
even thinking of approaching them, a lot of
people discouraged me saying the pair don't talk
but I went ahead to 'chase' them for months.
"When I called Omotola, she asked who the other
actress was, I said Genevieve and when I called
Genevieve she asked who the other actress was,
I said Omotola (laughs) and she was like, 'has she
agreed?' I said yes and Omotola asked me too if
Genevieve had agreed, I said yes meanwhile they
hadn't even agreed (laughs) but I had to use that
trick to be able to get them together in the film,"
the Masters degree holder in Filmmaking from the New
York Film Academy (NYFA) disclosed.
On how both got together on set and her experience
with them, Chineze revealed, "It was a wonderful
experience working with these two stars, they
knew I was a student at the New York Film
Academy at that time.
"So, when the production started on the first day,
they didn't take part but they observed the
session. When their turn came, they were very
professional all the way, it was pleasant scenery
all through."

My Relationship With Chris Reminds Me Of Whitney And Bobby - Rihanna
Rihanna and Chris Brown have been rumored to be back
together for months, and these days it's almost certain
the entertainers are a couple once again, but according
to new reports Rihanna's view of their relationship is
more than a little alarming.
Hollywood Life reports that Rihanna has been telling
friends that her romance with Brown reminds her of
another famous couple — Whitney Houston and
Bobby Brown. A source revealed to the website that
Whitney and Bobby's song "Something In Common"
perfectly describes her feelings for Chris.
"Their relationship is like the early Whitney and Bobby
day. Riri was watching Bobby and Whitney's "Something
In Common" video the other day and said 'This is just like
Chris and me. For real though, that's the type of fun we
having right now. I love Whitney. She was my girl. Can't
nobody do it better than her," the source told
HollywoodLIfe, adding that you can see her relationship
with Chris is "real love … like ain't no bullshi**ng. The s**t
is magical and it's real."
Of course the comparison between the two couples is
rather unsettling if it's something Rihanna is
romanticizing. The 24-year-old "Diamonds" singer was
brutally beaten by Brown in 2009, and Whitney and
Bobby's relationship was not without its own violence. In
2003, Bobby was charged with misdemeanor battery for
hitting Whitney and reportedy threatening to "beat her
ass".
Guess Riri is right on this one…so many things in common

Bill clinton On Marijuana
Bill Clinton, the man who famously "did not inhale," is
definitely getting ready for the inevitable legalization of
marijuana. We're pretty sure that he and Hil' have a
gorgeous vaporizer all picked out and ready to go.
But even if our stoner sixth sense is lying to us, the
former President is certainly not shying away from
saying critical things about the United States' policies on
drugs. Clinton makes some pretty bold declarations in a
new documentary called "Breaking the Taboo," which is
directed by Sam Branson, son of the world's wackiest
rich guy Richard Branson.
"Well obviously if the expected results was that we would
eliminate serious drug use in America and eliminate the
narcotrafficking networks – it hasn't worked," Clinton
says.
Later in the film, he goes on to defend his own efforts
against illegal drug trade:
"What I tried to do was to focus on every aspect of
the problem. I tried to empower the Colombians for
example to do more militarily and police-wise because
I thought that they had to. Thirty percent of their
country was in the hands of the narcotraffickers."
In 1993, Clinton raised the Drug Czar position to cabinet-
level status. And it was measured during 1998, at the tail
end of Clinton's presidency, that African Americans were
sent to state prisons for drug offenses 13 times more
often than other races.

Kim Kardashian's Obituary for her Kitten.
There's unfortunate news coming out of L.A, Kim Kardashian wrote a tearful goodbye post
to her little, Mercy, who died of stomach cancer earlier
this week.
The cat's life only lasted for four months, which is about
50 days longer than Kim's 70-day marriage to Kris
Humphries.
The cat was of course named after her beau Kanye
West's summer jam "Mercy," where he compliments
Kim with the line, "Plus, yo my bitch make your bitch
look like Precious."
Her obituary for her beloved Mercy is a complicated
weave of tears. Let us examine this modern Kardashian
prose in great detail.
It is with deep sadness [and a chance to get some
good PR,] that I have to tell you all that my kitten,
Mercy, has passed away [ :( ]. My heart is completely
broken ["Please feel bad for me."].
When I first got Mercy, I had never lived with a cat
before and so I had no idea that I was allergic [How
did you not know this?]. I thought that it might
pass [Kim, that's not how allergies work], but
after a few weeks I decided to go visit two separate
allergists, one of whom said my allergies wouldn't get
any better unless I started taking injections [Cat
injections, which might have turned you into
Cat Woman] . I had fallen SO in love with Mercy
[passionate cat love] that I wanted to try
everything I could to keep her, but I didn't think it was
safe to resort to injections [The Cat Woman thing,
remember?], and it wasn't fair on Mercy [because
you got him without knowing you were
allergic?] , because I couldn't play with her or give her
as much attention as I wanted to [Because she's
busy terrorizing the Middle East]. Mercy deserved
a mom who could really give her the time and
affection she deserved [A responsible human
being]. I knew that Sydney, Khloe's assistant, [The
help] who had recently lost a cat she had loved and
cared for for 17 years [Not a royal Kardashian
Kat], would be the perfect mom for Mercy and
Sydney was so excited to have Mercy as her own!
Sydney gave Mercy a loving home [Not at The
Kardashian Kastle], but after a couple of weeks
Mercy got really sick [Oh.] and Sydney had to rush
her to the vet. They discovered she had a stomach
problem that we weren't aware of [Probably
because Kim didn't really take care of the cat].
Her stomach had filled with fluid and the doctor said
she had a rare stomach cancer and that there was
nothing we could do for her [The Kardashians don't
cure cancer, yet...]. Poor little Mercy died the very
next day. It broke not only my heart ["Please feel
bad for me."] that little Mercy died at only four
months old, but Sydney's too.
Mercy was a gentle and loving kitten and we are all
going to miss her so much [Even though she gave
her away]. Thanks to Sydney for making Mercy's
short life one filled with love ["and getting that
nasty thing away from me."]. RIP Mercy Xo
