Jim Carrey Is Funniest Man On Earth - Judd Apatow

'This Is 40' director Judd Apatow believes Jim Carrey is the funniest man on earth and will ''always be the king''.
Judd Apatow thinks Jim Carrey is the ''funniest man on earth''.
The influential producer and director once toured as the opening act for Jim during his stand up comedy days and while Judd acknowledges there are many talented comedians working today, he thinks Jim is still the best.
Writing in Vanity Fair, he said:'' When I was a stand up comedian in the late 80s, I used to open for Jim Carrey on the road. I would do my lame act and then he would come on and do the most energetic, inventive, uproarious set I had ever witnessed. I retired from performing as a result. He was and is the funniest man on earth. This is something we can all agree on. We can debate number two forever but Jim will always be the king.''
Jim, 50, recently splashed out $160,000 to hire a private boat for the cast and crew of his new film 'Kick Ass 2' and took them on his own guided tour of London's sights down the River Thames.
A source said: ''He didn't get a single point of interest right, but his version of London's history was much more entertaining.''
The funnyman played tour guide to the likes of Nicolas Cage, Chloe Grace Moretz and Aaron Johnson and kept his guests entertained by performing a rendition of The Proclaimers' 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' as they sailed down the river.
Jim was celebrating landing the role of Colonel Stars in the sequel to 2010's wacky superhero comedy after expressing his love of the original 'Kick-Ass' film by Matthew Vaughn.

Rukky Sandra Acquires New Range Rover Evoque SUV

For those that think there’s no money in Nollywood, they had better have a rethink or better still needs to be better connected, so they too can start rolling in the cash. The way the babes (ladies) in the industry are just coming out in powerful machines (Range Rover SUVs, Funke Akindele, Chika Ike, Susan Peters, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde & others) nowadays, is helping to lend credence to the fact that if you know your onions in the industry, then you are most likely to be swimming in the pool of dough.
We recently saw, the ‘delightfully’ gorgeous, actress/movie-producer Rukky Sanda cruising in her brand spanking new Range Rover Evoque Compact SUV somewhere. She was looking every inch a superstar, wearing a fez cap, looking sweet like a million dollars and cruising the car so effortlessly, you get the impression she’s a very confident driver that can hold her own any day. The black coloured wonder car, was looking very stunning and if what we hear is correct, starting price can be from about 14.5 million Naira upwards, depending on the model and other things added. We can also bet that, that’s definitely not the only

Ravi Shankar Dies

SITAR VIRTUOSO: Ravi Shankar.
Ravi Shankar, the sitar virtuoso who became a hippie musical icon of the 1960s after hobnobbing with the Beatles and who introduced traditional Indian ragas to Western audiences over an eight-decade career, has died. He was 92.
The prime minister's office confirmed his death and called him a "national treasure."
Labelled "the godfather of world music" by George Harrison, Shankar helped millions of classical, jazz and rock lovers discover the centuries-old traditions of Indian music.
He also pioneered the concept of the rock benefit with the 1971 Concert For Bangladesh. To later generations, he was known as the estranged father of popular American singer Norah Jones.
As early as the 1950s, Shankar began collaborating with and teaching some of the greats of Western music, including violinist Yehudi Menuhin and jazz saxophonist John Coltrane. He played well-received shows in concert halls in Europe and the United States, but faced a constant struggle to bridge the musical gap between the West and the East.
Describing an early Shankar tour in 1957, Time magazine said "US audiences were receptive but occasionally puzzled."
His close relationship with Harrison, the Beatles lead guitarist, shot Shankar to global stardom in the 1960s.
Harrison had grown fascinated with the sitar, a long necked, string instrument that uses a bulbous gourd for its resonating chamber and resembles a giant lute. He played the instrument, with a Western tuning, on the song Norwegian Wood, but soon sought out Shankar, already a musical icon in India, to teach him to play it properly.

New Facts Cancels Out Messi’s New Goalscoring Record

Lionel Messi has been showered with praise after establishing a new world record by scoring 86 goals in a calendar year.
Regardless of what you might think of calendar year as opposed to season-by-season records - our blogger Early Doors certainly did not approve - you can't help doffing your cap to the diminutive Argentine for his goal tally. At the age of just 25 he is already a legend of the game, and even Gerd Mueller - the man whose record he took - has paid homage to him.
Yet it seems that Messi's latest entry in the footballing record books might have to be scrubbed out: the Zambian FA have claimed that one of their own legendary strikers put the Barca star's tally in the shade way back in 1972.
Godfrey 'Ucar' Chitalu scored an astonishing 107 goals for Kitwe United that year, the same year that Mueller hit the previous mark of 85. Yet while Muller was feted for his brilliance, Chitalu was not recognised outside his homeland and it is the German's record that has stood for the last 40 years.
After a glittering career on the pitch, Chitalu was awarded a FIFA special award, and went on to become Zambia coach until he was tragically killed in the 1993 plane crash that wiped out an entire generation of the national team's finest footballers.

Ashley Cole's Mum Deny's Facebook Post

Ferdinand was left with blood pouring down his face following the incident at the end of Manchester United's dramatic 3-2 win over local rivals Manchester City, and police are trying to find out who threw the 2p piece at the defender.
The player himself tried to play down the incident, sarcastically praising whoever threw the coin for their accuracy but adding that "it could at least have been a pound coin".
But the Daily Mirror reported that Ashley Cole's family reacted with jubilation to the attack on Ferdinand, who was reprimanded for labelling Cole a 'choc ice' over the John Terry racism affair earlier this year.
Cole was criticised by an FA independent commission for the "evolution" of his evidence in defence of Terry who was accused of racially abusing Ferdinand's brother Anton.
The comments were allegedly started by Ashley's brother Matty, who reportedly posted on Facebook: "So happy Rio got hit in the face when he tried to give it kissing his badge!! Straight in the eye!! Made my day."
The boys' mother Sue Cole is said to have replied, saying: "Bloody missed that, ha ha ha," then adding, "Give the fan that threw it a medal!"
The paper claims that Sue Cole then added, "wonder if he can see????" when Ferdinand appeared in the audience at the X-Factor later that night.
But when the Daily Mirror called Sue Cole for comment, she denied making the posts: "Who has put that on? I don't know who has done that. It wasn't me," she said, adding that any jibes against Ferdinand were "disgusting".
The offending posts were removed five minutes after the reporter called, the Mirror claims.

Django Unchained: Film Review

History gets another dramatic rewrite, Quentin Tarantino-style, in Django Unchained, a jokey, discursive, idiosyncratic and spirited film that does to slave owners what Inglourious Basterds did to Nazis.

Applying the episodic format and visual template of classic and spaghetti Westerns to a revenge saga mostly set in the Deep South just prior to the Civil War, the film makes a point of pushing the savagery of slavery to the forefront but does so in a way that rather amazingly dovetails with the heightened historical, stylistic and comic sensibilities at play. The anecdotal, odyssey-like structure of this long, talky saga could be considered indulgent, but Tarantino injects the weighty material with so many jocular, startling and unexpected touches that it’s constantly stimulating. A stellar cast and strong action and comedy elements will attract a good-sized audience internationally, though distaste for the subject matter and the irreverent take on a tragic subject might make some prospective viewers hesitate.
Tarantino’s affinity for black culture and interest in the ways blacks and whites relate have always been evident, but they’ve never before been front and center to the extent that they are in Django Unchained. Some might object to the writer-director’s tone, historical liberties, comic japes or other issues, but there can be no question who gets the shaft here: This is a story of justifiable vengeance, pure and simple, and no paleface is spared, even the good German who facilitates a slave’s transformation into a take-no-prisoners hunter of whites who trade in black flesh.
At its core, then, the film entirely shares its raison d’etre with Basterds, which climaxed with a conflagration that fancifully obliterated the Nazi regime. It’s presented, however, as a lengthy journey, one that feels -- both in its equivalent running time and luxuriant magnification of arguably incidental matters -- quite like Sergio

Jenni Rivera Plane Crash Update: Troubled Mexican Businessman Emerges

Rivera the Movie Star
A Mexican businessman with connections to the plane that crashed with Jenni Rivera and six others onboard Sunday has been convicted of falsifying aircraft records, counterfeiting government inspection stamps, and drug-trafficking charges, according to court records.
ABC News first broke the news of Christian E. Esquino Nuñez’s ties to the company whose jet crashed near Monterrey, Mexico, killing Rivera and all others on the aircraft.

Nuñez also owes millions of dollars in state and federal taxes, as well as an undisclosed amount to the norteño band Los Tigres del Norte, according to records examined by Univision News.
Mexico’s Secretary of Communications and Transportations identified the plane as a Lear Jet belonging to Nevada-based company Starwood Management, of which Nuñez heads business activities. Now, in wake of the crash, Nunez may be forced to answer questions from authorities and investigators from the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) as they examine what caused the crash.
The Huffington Post also reported Monday, citing the NTSB, that the Lear Jet in question was involved in one previous accident in 2005. The incident occurred when the jet struck a runway marker while attempting to land at an airstrip near Amarillo, Texas. The report describes a malfunction with the fuel system in the wings, which caused one side of the plane to experience a loss of balance.

Also in 2005, Nuñez and his partner Lance Z. Ricotta were convicted by a federal grand jury on charges of “creating false and fictitious logbooks” for six aircraft that Nuñez purchased from the Mexican government and sold to U.S. buyers. According to the court documents, Nuñez altered important records regarding the aircraft’s overall condition, total operating hours, and a history of maintenance and inspection, to sell the planes at significant mark-ups.
The jet in which Rivera was flying Sunday was not, however, included in the 2005 lawsuit.
A decade prior to his 2005 charges, for which he was sentenced to 24 months in prison and later deported to Mexico, Nuñez was indicted in Florida on drug trafficking charges. In 1993, he pled guilty to conspiring to conceal from the Internal Revenue Service and was sentenced to five years in prison.
