Cameron Diaz Caught Without Make Up

Cameron Diaz on December 11, 2012 and on December 12, 2012, both in New York City.

Cameron Diaz doesn't look like most 40-year-old women.

On Dec. 12 in New York City, Diaz was photographed hailing a taxi cab looking more youthful than ever. Wearing minimal makeup and a cozy gray sweater, the Holiday actress embraced her natural beauty as she texted a pal on her iPhone.

Diaz recently opened up about being over the hill in Esquire UK. "For the first time in my life, I'm content," the single star said. "I'm so excited. Getting older is the best part of life. Like, I know more than I've ever known. I have gratitude. I know myself better. I feel more capable than ever. And as far as the physicality of it -- I feel better at 40 than I did at 25."

The actress -- whose famous exes include Jared Leto, Alex Rodriguez and Justin Timberlake -- next appears in the movie Gambit, a remake of the 1968 film starring Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine. The comedy, costarring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, is slated for a 2013 release.

Middle-aged UK man dies after PSY dance

The Gangnam Style craze made popular by Psy is sweeping the planet in popularity, but it may have also claimed the life of a man in the UK.
Eamonn Kilbride, 46, collapsed with chest pains after a Christmas party last week soon after he finished performing the dance made famous by Psy, the South Korean musician. Kilbride was at his company's Christmas party at Lancashire's Whitehall Country Club, according to reports.
After doing it "Gangnam Style," the former IT manager experienced chest pains and passed out, according to the Daily Telegraph in the UK. Paramedics reportedly tried to revive Kilbride but he was pronounced dead at Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Kilbride's wife Julie told the Daily Telegraph her husband "was always the life of the party and loved dancing."
"We were having a fantastic time at the Christmas party and Eamonn had just finished dancing to 'Gangnam Style,'" she told the newspaper.
A spokesman for the coroner's office told the Telegraph that Kilbride died of coronary artery atheroma, something that can be triggered by vigorous exercise.

Nigeria's Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's mother freed by kidnappers

Nigeria's Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in March 2012
The mother of Nigeria's Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been released five days after she was kidnapped, Delta state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has told the BBC.
Kamene Okonjo, an 82-year-old retired professor, was seized from her home in southern Nigeria on Sunday.
Kidnapping is common in southern Nigeria, where it is a lucrative criminal enterprise.
It is not clear if Mrs Okonjo was held for political or financial gain.
Dozens of people were reportedly detained on Thursday during the search for Mrs Okonjo.
Earlier this week finance ministry spokesman Paul Nwabuikwu said that Mrs Okonjo-Iweala had been threatened recently.
He confirmed Mrs Okonjo's release, but gave no further details, AP news agency reports.
Police spokesman Frank Mba told the AFP news agency Mrs Okonjo was "in good health".
BBC Nigeria correspondent Will Ross says kidnappings are so common in the country that they rarely make front page news.
Many businessmen, footballers and academics have been kidnapped for ransom in the south in recent months.
In the past, only foreign oil workers used to be targeted, our reporter says.

Poster And Trailer For New Tom Cruise Movie 'Oblivion' Released

Over the weekend, the marketing campaign for next year’s sci-fi Tom Cruise starrer Oblivion suddenly kicked into gear. First, a poster was released, and not much later, a trailer as well. So how does it look? Well, it’s refreshing that the poster has no sparks (I am so tired of sparks) or flying debris, even if it does use the too-worn “centered on a character with their back to the viewer” layout. As for the trailer, I like that the movie doesn’t appear to be awash in teal and orange the way so many other blockbusters are.
Oblivion is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also co-wrote the graphic novel on which the script is based. That script has also had Departed scribe William Monahan take a pass at it, as well as Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine writer Michael Arndt. Since Arndt is also writing Star Wars Episode VII, you might want to look to this film as a barometer of how well he might possibly handle that one.
Cruise plays Jack Reacher Harper, who’s in charge of maintaining some drone thingies that are flying around an abandoned Earth. Except it looks like Earth isn’t abandoned, because Morgan Freeman and some other guys are still on it, and there’s Olga Kurylenko, who seems to know Jack, and he has memories of the past Earth or something? It’s all very ambiguous. We’ll understand when Oblivion comes out April 12th. For now, check out the trailer above.

Filmography For 2012

Since 2010, YouTube video-maker Gen Ip has made an annual tradition of editing together footage from pretty much every single movie to come out during the year into an epic, impressionistic collage of the year in film. Ip uploaded year’s edition a few hours ago, and it’s spectacular. It’s an emotional roller coaster, aggregating the highs and lows of the many diverse movies to come out in 2012. Her editing skills are unparalleled; marvel at how she cuts everything together.
So, without further ado, check out Filmography 2012 for yourself. See how many of the movie clips you can identify, and figure out what you still have to see from this year (Hint: you probably need to see Beasts of the Southern Wild, at the very least. Probably the best movie of the year, right there). This was such a great year for movies.

'The Wolverine' Poster Reveals Dark Look at the Marvel Mutant

The Wolverine Movie Poster New - P 2012
Logan has yet another sharp weapon at his disposal in the new poster for The Wolverine. Both adamantium claws and Japanese blade look deadly in the hands of Hugh Jackman’s mutant, and the rain appears to set a darker tone for the follow-up to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine is set in Japan and is said to draw heavily from a 1980s comics run by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, which saw the Marvel anti-hero travel to Japan and run afoul of ninjas and after he attempts to reunite with with a former lover.

Perhaps apropos to the poster, the comic storyline involves Wolverine getting a major beating from his former love interest's father, who is an expert swordsman.
A motion version of the poster can be viewed at the film’s official site.
The film is slated for July 26, 2013. Jackman may also reprise his role as Wolverine for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the follow-up to 2011’s X-Men: First Class, which is being directed by Bryan Singer, helmer of the first two X-Men films, and will reunite original castmembers Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

'Lincoln' Crossing $100 Million in North America

Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture

DreamWorks' Lincoln -- directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Day-Lewis as President Abraham Lincoln -- will cross the $100 million mark at the domestic box office Thursday after continuing to overperform since its Nov. 9 debut.
Lincoln, distributed domestically by Disney's Touchstone, also was celebrating its Golden Globes triumph. The drama landed seven nominations Thursday, the most of any film, including best motion drama, best director, best actor, best screenplay (Tony Kushner), best supporting actress (Sally Field) and best supporting actor (Tommy Lee Jones).

The film also stars David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader and Hal Holbrook.
On Wednesday, Lincoln received four SAG Award nominations, tying for the lead with Silver Linings Playbook and Les Miserables.
In the wake of the nominations, Lincoln will add another 271 theaters Friday, bringing its total count to 2,285.
“It was a 12-year struggle to get this film made," said Lincoln producer Kathleen Kennedy. "We are humbled and gratified to receive these nominations and to see how audiences have embraced it. To see this film cross $100 million after we were continually discouraged from making it is beyond what we could have ever hoped for."

The Hobbit, from New Line Cinema and MGM, took in $4.3 million in France, capturing 50 percent of the market, and $2 million in Germany, capturing 73 percent of the market. It took in $1.6 million in Sweden, a sizable number for that country.

Warner Bros., which is distributing the film, opens Hobbit at 12:01 a.m. Friday in North America.
According to those who have seen pre-release tracking, Hobbit could open in the $75 million to $90 million range domestically. Reviews have been mixed in the U.S., however.

'Metropolis' Poster Leads $1.2 Million Auction of Movie Memorabilia

Metropolis Poster Art - P 2012 The rare Metropolis poster that was caught up in a messy bankruptcy case was auctioned today for $1.2 million by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles.
Bundled with the rare international version of the poster from the 1927 Fritz Lang classic were posters from King Kong, The Invisible Man and Arsenic and Old Lace, as well as the original painting of Elvis Presley used for the Jailhouse Rock poster and several other pieces of memorabilia.
The winning bidder was East Coast collector and dealer Ralph DeLuca, who had made the initial $700,000 offer to the Bankruptcy Court.

DeLuca faced spirited competition from several other bidders who showed up at the hearing, including a representative from auctioneers Heritage Auctions and Profiles in History. Profiles was representing Steve Fishler, the owner of New York-based Metropolis Comics.
But the strongest challenge came from British collector Andrew Cohen, represented by Bruce Marchant of London-based Reel Poster Gallery. DeLuca and Marchant engaged in a back-and-forth in $20,000 increments as the price rose from $840,000 to the final $1.2 million selling price.
Cohen actually had owned this Metropolis poster until 2005, when he sold it for $690,000, still a world-record price for a single poster. (Today's auction did not set a record because it was sold with other memorabilia.)
After the auction was over, DeLuca told The Hollywood Reporter he was pleased with the result. He has no immediate plans to sell the Metropolis poster or any of other eight items he bought, but he hinted a sale of some of the items could happen next year. He estimated the Metropolis poster alone could be worth between $1million and $2 million on the open market.
Marchant told THR it was “a very good deal for the buyer” and said there would be “an uptick for the buyer if he sells” the items.

There are just four known surviving copies of this version of the poster for Metropolis, the sci-fi dystopian film which was at the time one of the most expensive movies ever made. It is considered groundbreaking for its use of special effects. Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly owns a copy, while the other copies belong to the Museum of Modern Art and the Austrian National Library museum.
DeLuca said he would post images of the posters on his personal website
