Documentary About Lady GaGa Life Coming Soon
and past collaborator Terry Richardson is making a
documentary film about the music star.
"Merry Christmas little monsters!" she tweeted on
Christmas Day. "Terry Richardson @Terry_World is
making a #LadyGagaMOVIE documenting my life, the
creation of ARTPOP + you!" "Artpop" is Lady Gaga's
much-anticipated new album.
She didn't disclose timing and likely release details, a title
or additional collaborators. First rumors about a possible
new Lady Gaga documentary first surfaced this summer.
She thanked and lauded Richardson, whose fashion
photography has at times caused controversy due to its
sometimes sexually explicit content. "I love
you @Terry_World thank you for believing in me and my
fans, I have looked up to you and your work for so long,
its a dream come true!" the star tweeted.
Earlier this year, Troy Carter, founder and CEO of
entertainment firm Atom Factory and the manager of
Lady Gaga, announced that he and Richardson have
teamed up to launch Pop Water in 2013, a beverage that
will be marketed as a healthier alternative to sugary soft
drinks.
Lady Gaga also addressed the status of her fourth studio
album, expected to be released in the spring, in a
separate tweet. "Thank you for being so patient waiting
for my new album ARTPOP I hope this gets u excited for
things to come. I love you with all my heart!"
HBO last year aired concert documentary Lady Gaga
Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square
Garden.
I Am Not Concerned With Violence in 'Django Unchained' - Quentin Tarantino
convention. In fact, his unorthodox cocktail of cross-
genre storytelling, garish bloodshed and overall lack of
traditional reverence has made him one of the industry's
most adored -- if not feared -- filmmakers.
"Not one word of social criticism that's been leveled my
way has ever changed one word of any script or any
story I tell," says the 49-year-old Oscar winner (for his
original screenplay for 1994's Pulp Fiction), whose latest
offering, The Weinstein Co.'s Django Unchained, has
ruffled more than a few feathers with its brazen use of
the N-word (more than 100 utterances) and extreme
violence (particularly in a post-Connecticut-school-
shooting America).
Pressed about some of the harsher criticisms of his
filmmaking philosophy, Tarantino doesn't flinch: "I
believe in what I'm doing wholeheartedly and
passionately. It's my job to ignore that."
Says Foxx, who stars as Django, a slave-turned-bounty
hunter, in the spaghetti Western/blaxploitation drama:
"When was the last time a movie made you talk? He
exposed wounds but with entertainment value. When you
watch Don Johnson say the N-word with that Tarantino
vibe, you can't help but laugh. I've watched it with a
white crowd, a white/black crowd and an all-black crowd.
Every single time, people laughed."
For his part, Foxx, 45, never has fit neatly into one box.
The multihyphenate (comedian, pianist, actor, R&B artist,
music producer and radio host) earned an Oscar in 2005
for his lead turn in Taylor Hackford's Ray but
experienced a career downturn shortly after. Now, like
many actors before him (read: John Travolta), he is
enjoying the Tarantino halo effect by which old stars are
made new -- he even finds himself again in the awards
race for his critically celebrated performance.
Up next in Roland Emmerich's White House Down and
Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Foxx credits
Tarantino's atypical Hollywood influence for the upswing
in his career: "If he were to do the remake of Yentl, you'd
be like, 'What's wrong with this dude?' His fans want to
see that envelope pushed."
Chris Brown Was Paid $1m For Lagos Gig.
(about N156m) to travel down to Lagos with a 15 man
crew last week.
The Grammy-winning singer stopped over in South
Africa, for concerts in Cape Town and Jo'burg, before
heading down to Lagos for the show.
The Lagos event, built into Brown's on-going world
tour, was organised by Kilimanjaro Events – same
company that promoted Rick Ross and Anita Baker in
the past.
Financial details were not made public, but we found
that Oando boss Wale Tinubu was a major financier,
as well as Etisalat, which provided last minute
sponsorship.
Brown was to make a brief appearance at the
Oando end-of-year gig, but we're told that did not
happen.
It was Brown's second time in Nigeria, the first being
for a THISDAY Music Festival performance a few
years ago.
Sources told us the fees 'could have been more' if he
was required to perform with a live band or if he had
to do multiple venues or cities.
Although he performed with a DJ and backing track,
with two back-up singers and four dancers, he gave a
good account of himself, treating fans to almost two
hours of a well-planned set that left guests asking for
more.
Chris Brown's tour will continue early next year with a
scheduled performance in Cote D'Ivoire.
Christmas Box Office: 'Les Mis' No. 1 With $17.5Million; 'Django Unchained' Strong No. 2
Christmas day with an expected take of $17.5 million,
surpassing industry expectations.
The film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical stars
Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe,
and was directed by Tom Hooper.
Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained also did bang-
up business on its first day, grossing a projected $14
million, the top opening for an R-rated film on Christmas
Day, exceeding the $10 million earned by Ali in 2002.
Django, from the Weinstein Co., stars Jaime Foxx,
Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Hollywood was pleased with the level of traffic at the
multiplex for Christmas Day.
Placing No. 3 was Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An
Unexpected Journey with an anticipated $10.8 million.
Also opening Tuesday was Fox's family comedy Parental
Guidance, starring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and
Marisa Tomei. The movie came in No. 4 with a
projected $6 million to $7 million.
The trio of new films struck a chord with moviegoers: Les
Mis received an A CinmeaScore, while Django and
Parental Guidance both received an A-.

President Goodluck Jonathan Under Attack Over Facebook Post
from his Facebook friends on Tuesday after he
posted his Christmas message on the social
networking site .
The President in the message said he "personally"
instructed government officials to make conditions
favourable for Nigerians to celebrate the Yuletide.
The airports, he said, for instance, had been
given a "facelift", adding that the terminals were
rehabilitated and the runways upgraded ahead of
the festive season.
He wrote, "I want to seize this opportunity to wish
you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a
happy New Year in advance. I feel the pains of
Nigerians and that is why this Yuletide I have
personally instructed that our roads be worked
on to enable you and your loved ones to travel
safely for the holidays.
"Not done, we ensured that for the first time in
decades, the cross country services (Lagos to
Kano with stops in cities along the route) of the
Nigerian Railway Corporation were revived just
prior to the holidays to provide Nigerian masses
with an inexpensive alternative to road and air
transportation.
"This administration also took steps to increase
power generation by remaining true to the
Timelines of the Roadmap to Power Sector
Reform, which has seen history made on Friday,
December 21, when Nigeria's power generation
hit an all-time high of just over 4,500 MW."
But no sooner had Jonathan posted the message on his
wall than it was greeted with a barrage of criticisms
from his friends.
While a few praised and advised the President on
how to tackle the problems bedevilling the
country, many others faulted his submissions.
One of his friends, Kaycee Aloy-Obi wrote, "Mr.
President hold your greetings. You and your family are
having great celebration. A litre of petrol is sold at N110-
N120, against N97 which is the official price. There is
unprecedented traffic jam on Ore-Benin road due to bad
roads.
"People cannot go around to visit love ones
because of insecurity. Bury your head in shame
with your 4,500 MW when South Africa is
generating 50,000 MW. It is paradoxical that
many Nigerians are having dry Christmas in midst
of plenty."
Yusuf Suleiman, asked the president to match his words
with actions, adding that his "advisers are not telling you
the true picture of what is happening."
He said, "In Nigeria today, under your watch, the
country recorded the highest looting of our
treasury, and you didn't do anything. We also
have seen how citizens were massacred, in fact,
the highest since civil war ended (and) your
government is not doing enough to stop that."
Also, Bethel Vincent, wrote, "Haba! Mr. President, you
know say lie no good at all. Why post something we have
not witnessed, yet you refer to us as friends and fellow
Nigerians. As I am talking to you, my flat is running on
generator; Benin-Auchi road is filled with potholes and
you are talking about airport, how (many) Nigerians can
afford air transport?"
A friend, Ajoba David, wrote, "Sir,
congratulations! Merry Christmas and a happy
new year. What do we expect as a New Year gift
come Tuesday, January 1st? Well, I hope it is not
going to be another fuel subsidy razzmatazz like
we experienced last year.
"Nevertheless, Nigerians have yet to recuperate from
the fever that was injected into their veins last January
as a result of the purportedly and verbally(sic) removal
of the fuel subsidy which Nigerians have yet to see any
sign of seriousness in bringing (those) culpable to book."
Kidnappers Threatened To Rape Me If I Failed To Pay Ransom - Nkiru Slyvanus
her kidnappers, there have been stories emerging about
how she was freed exactly. One thing for sure is that, her
release didn't come cheap.
Check out what the Imo State Commissioner of Police,
Baba Adisa Bolanta had to say:
"Initially, the family paid N7million to the kidnappers and
the police who laid ambush swooped on them at the
point of collection and recovered the money that was
locked in the trunk of their car as they escaped…
"After we returned the money to the family, they went
behind us and paid N8milliom to the kidnappers.
Surprisingly I saw Nkiru in my office after she was
released, and I was told they paid N8million to secure her
release".
The Commissioner wasn't happy with the family of Nkiru
Slyvanus as they hindered the police from doing their
job…so he claims
According to our source, the Police boss didn't really
understand Nkiru's situation in the hands of her
abductors. They said her family was forced to defy the
police and pay ransom to the kidnappers "when the issue
of rape came in".
The kidnappers allegedly "tampered" with Nkiru and
even threatened her family that they would impregnate
her if the ransom was not paid "immediately". At this
stage, the family of the actress was no longer sure the
Police could rescue her unhurt, hence they
paid N8million.
I wouldn't blame the family…we all know how the
Nigerian Police might be at times.
