Obasanjo's Mansion On Fire

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo's multi-billion naira
hill-top mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital was
Thursday evening gutted by fire.
The mysterious fire was reported to have started from
the kitchen section of the mansion at about 5 pm which
later spread to other sections within the premises.

An eye witness disclosed that Ogun State Fire Service
truck marked OG 122 AO9 was seen at the compound
even as men Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,
the Nigeria Police Force, State Security Service have
joined the fire fighters to contain the fire from spreading
to other parts of the sprawling estate.
Obasanjo who expressed appreciation to God said that,
"You have seen that it is only the office of my secretary
that is burnt." He added in Yoruba, "Ile Obasanjo to jo
Ewa lobu kun, ile Obasanjo to jo ewa lobu kun." This is
translated, " A king's house gutted by fire can only add
beauty to it."

King Saheed Elegushi Never Slapped Me - Davido

I wonder why Davido's gossips are always beating related? Either the tatafo says his
bodyguards are beating one taxi driver, or Davido is getting a hot slap from Mopol Men.

Now there is another Slap Related gist saying
that Davido received a hot slap from King Saheed
Elegushi at the after-party of the Dynamix awards which
took place at Voodoo lounge, Elegushi beach.
The tori records that one of Davido's guyses B-Red got
drunk and was in an argument with King Saheed, One
thing led to another, Davido got involved and was re-
formatted with a slap from King Saheed...(according to
the tori oh).
But he is what Davido is saying "What's this am seein
about me and royalty fighting... Lol when u see royalty u
postrate stop d rumours!! Geez!!!"

I Did Not Have Sex With Chris Brown - Vixen

I'm sure some of you heard that Chris Brown supposedly hooked up with a video vixen while in Nigeria last weekend for his concert. The lady in the centre of the story is popular video vixen and model, Venita Akpofure, popularly known as Veezee baybeh. Here is What She Said  about the speculation that went viral on Social media.

Below is what she said:

I didn't have any sexual contact with Chris Brown. We all hung out after the show because we have mutual friends. I actually went with Wizkid who's cool with Chris. It's not abnormal for models/vixens to meet artists in the line of work that I do. I didn't really speak with him, just hello and goodbye. It was cool to meet him and he was polite enough to take a photo with us. We hung out with him after the show and I left for home to go and prepare for Christmas. It was nothing scandalous like what is being implied.

Funke Akindele, Omowunmi Thrill Fans

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and singer,
Omowunmi were at their best last Sunday during the
LadyStar end-of-year party held at Golden Tulip Hotel,
Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State. Akindele compered the
event and kept the audience reeling in laughter as she
cracked jokes to the delight of the audience, while
Omowunmi enlivened the audience as she sang to their
enjoyment.

One of the officials of LadyStar Limited said, LadyStar is
a product every woman in Nigeria looks up to. Some of
the brands of LadyStar include Diamond Remy, Shine U,
Gold chocolate and chocolate platinum.

Peter Parker Dies in 'Amazing Spider-Man No. 700' Comic

RIP, Peter Parker.

Spider-Man's alter ego -- the geeky,
wise-cracking teenager who learned
back in 1962 that with great power
comes great responsibility -- will succumb to one of his
greatest rivals in Wednesday's Amazing Spider-Man No.
700. In the issue, Parker loses a major battle with Doctor
Octopus, who spent the past year fighting to destroy the
world as his own body slowly died.

However, this doesn't spell the end for the legacy of
Spider-Man; instead, Dr. Octopus has a moment of
clarity, realizes that his longtime enemy was a force for
good and, having swapped his mind into Parker's body,
takes on the life and exploits of Spidey for himself.

Marvel writer Dan Slott, who wrote the finale of the
comic series that started the wall-crawler's exploits,
explained the transformation to USA Today.
"This is Moriarty in the head of Sherlock. This is Prince
John inside of Robin Hood. This is the greatest villain
inside the body of the greatest hero and trying to do
good," he said. "This is a guy who was a couple steps way
from a bucket list, and now he's got a whole new lease
on life. That's really going to change him."

He further advanced the idea in an interview with CNN.

"For all intents and purposes, [Otto Octavius, who
became the evil Doc Ock] was the adult Peter could have
become, Spider-Man's dark reflection," Slott said. "So
what if we flipped it? What if we gave him a second
chance? Peter's final, heroic act was giving Doc all the
memories and experiences that kept him on the right
path. But is that enough? Can that overcome Ock's true
nature?"

Now, as per the common trend in comics, the tone of the
franchise will take on a darker shade. As such, Marvel will
cast aside the Amazing title for a new, fresh one:
Superior Spider-Man. Much of the Marvel universe
already has experienced a semi-reboot in the past year
or so.

Of course, in the world of comics, nothing is permanent:
During the 1990s, Spider-Man had an identity crisis that,
for a time, made it seem that Parker actually was a clone
of a man named Ben Reilly, who took on the webbed
garb for himself before dying. And many comic legends
have appeared to have died, only to return through
some scientific miracle or plot twist. A few examples:
Superman died in the 1990s, Bruce Wayne lost the cape
and cowl as Batman for a time, and Bucky took on the
role of Captain America.

Hollywood Most Bankable Actors

Add another achievement to Natalie
Portman's ever-growing list: most
bankable star.
The Oscar-winning actress tops Forbes' list of
Hollywood's Best Actors for the Buck, returning $42.70
for every dollar a studio spends on her.

While more than half of the list is composed of actors
coming off incredibly profitable tentpole franchises,
Portman's topping of the list is notable due to the fact
that it was an indie film (Black Swan) that pushed her
ahead of everyone else. Swan's worldwide gross of $329
million (on a $13 million budget) made it one of
Hollywood's most profitable films. When her other major
studio releases were added to the mix -- No Strings
Attached, which grossed $150 million worldwide, and
Your Highness, which flopped -- Portman came out on
top.

Kristen Stewart came in a close second on the
strength of the Twilight franchise and Snow White and
the Huntsman, returning an average of $40.60 for every
dollar she earned. She is followed by Shia LaBeouf
($35.80) and Stewart's Twilight co-star Robert
Pattinson ($31.70). Harry Potter himself, Daniel
Radcliffe ($30.50), rounds out the top five.
A big surprise on the list is Kevin James, who comes in
at No. 10 with a $22.40 average return.
The actors' return on investment was calculated using
information on their earnings from Forbes' Celebrity 100
list, box-office grosses and budget estimates, using "the
last three films each actor starred in over the last three
years that opened in more than 2,000 theaters,"
according to the announcement. Supporting and
ensemble roles were not considered, neither were
animated films.

This list is far more positive than Forbes' Most Overpaid
Actors list for 2012, which was released earlier this
month with Eddie Murphy topping the list, returning an
average of just $2.30 at the box office for every dollar he
was paid.

'Iron Man 3': Marvel Releases Tony Stark Holiday Photo

Billionaire playboy Tony Stark apparently has a soft spot
for holidays.
Marvel has released an Iron Man 3 holiday image
featuring Robert Downey Jr.'s character stranded in
the snow – a shot alluded to in the first trailer for the
film.

From what we know of the flick, this shot takes place in a
section of the film in which Tony is forced to drag his
apparently non-functioning Iron Man armor behind him.
It's not exactly celebration time, but it does make for a
picturesque holiday card.

Marvel Studio's Avenger's followup is being directed by
Shane Black and also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don
Cheadle and Ben Kingsley. It's slated for a May 3,
2013 release.

Hugh Jackman Reveals 'Les Miserables' Workout Regimen

Hugh Jackman is no stranger to getting his body lean
and mean for the screen.
In the case of Les Miserables though, the Aussie actor
had to undergo an arduous training process in order to
portray Jean Valjean as a gaunt prisoner in the opening
act of Tom Hooper's movie musical.

Speaking to Vulture, Jackman reveals his workout
regimen, saying, "Weirdly, this was almost more physical
in a way than an X-Men movie! I was spending even
longer in the gym -- like three hours in the gym --
because I needed to be as emaciated as possible, but still
keep some muscle on for Jean Valjean. He's actually
written as an ox of a man, so I had to eat seven times a
day with no carbohydrates, but then you had the
exercise. I'd wake up and do 45 minutes of [cardio] on an
empty stomach, eat something, go to the gym, do a
vocal warm-up, and then after lunch I'd go back to the
gym again. Otherwise, I'd just become skin and bones."

Fortunately, the Tony Award-winner has gotten back to
his fighting weight as he prepares to don the claws once
again in The Wolverine.

Speaking to 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley recently to promote
Les Miz, Jackman revealed a massively muscular
physique and took the correspondent through one of his
workouts.

Les Miserables is currently in theaters and The Wolverine
is scheduled for release July 26, 2013.

celebrating on Christmas Day, R&B singer Banky W
was putting in work, shooting the remainder of his

2013.

Entertainers Who Made It Big In 2012

GENEVIEVE NNAJI: The Nollywood actress is ahead
of her peers, benefiting from endless endorsements
(Loya, MUD, Range Rover etc) and reaping
dividends from private businesses she's keeping off
public glare. Paid a mind-boggling figure to act in the
movie adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie's 'Half of
a Yellow sun', Ms Nnaji rarely takes up movie roles
these days. When she does, it must be worth it.

D'BANJ: Gone are the days when he made N10m in a
week. These days, the superstar entertainer is making
more business deals than hits, and the figures are
amazing, from CRBTs to distribution, content
syndication, and several non-music projects. Paid
between N5 and N15 for engagements, and enjoying
royalty returns from here, the UK and US, the former
Mo'hits front man could soon be moving from the
millionaires to the billionaires' club.

DAVIDO: The young son of billionaire businessman
Deji Adeleke is making daddy proud earning his own
money at the young age of 20. Davido who started out
as a rookie less than two years ago now charges four
to five million Naira to perform at gigs and here's the
good part, he gets to perform at least three gigs in a
week. Could be up to five, in seasons such as this.
2012 incomes include the N30m deal with MTN…

WIZKID: The EME pop star this year made big bucks
from his endorsement deal with carbonated soft drink
Pepsi. Same for his deal with Star, for the all-star
song. And all through the year, he stood as one of the
highest paid acts, charging between N4m and N6.5m
for performances here, and usually more, for gigs in
Dubai, England and elsewhere…

OMOTOLA JALADE-EKEINDE: Omosexy cashed out
with her reality show 'The Real Me' for which she
reportedly got paid a huge sum. She also featured in
two big budget movies 'Amina' and 'Last Flight to
Abuja'.

PSQUARE: The twins probably made the most money
this year jetting round Africa headlining sold out shows
attended by thousands. Peter and Paul Okoye, whose
billable hours attract close to double figures in the
millions, also signed a distribution deal with Universal
Music. With sold out gigs here and abroad, the
brothers have built a wild following that makes sure
promoters keep asking for them. Easily one of the
highest paid Nigerian acts.

BASKETMOUTH: Bright Okpocha's transition from
mere stand-up comic to events compere and TV host
has the big bucks rolling in for him. His Globacom
endorsement remains intact, and he's delved heavily
into show promotions here and abroad. There's also
the successful EmBARssy Lounge on Lagos mainland.

ALI BABA: When the revered comedian isn't cracking
people up on Twitter, he's making big bucks
consulting or compering events for multinationals,
government or high net worth individuals.

IYANYA: Being his most promising year so far, Iyanya
made quite a fortune off his 'Kukere' single.
Performance fees doubled, tripled then doubled again,
causing him to swim in millions. Just this year, he
relocated to an expensive apartment in Lekki and
bought for himself a Range Rover HSE. Next year
should even be better.

2FACE IDIBIA: If he didn't make the list, wouldn't you
be scared? 2face started the year, releasing his fifth
solo album and then embarked on a sponsored US
tour. Charging as much as $60,000 per show, Mr.
Idibia was busy all year, headlining gigs all over.
Investment in real estate and hospitality (including
Club Rumours, in Ikeja, Lagos) also paid off.

FUNKE AKINDELE: The actress-producer is still
enjoying the success of 'The Return of Jenifa' from
which she reportedly made over N30m. She has also
been made the ambassador of Nigerian job website
Jobberman, a deal worth millions of Naira. That's in
addition to the endorsement deal with Telecoms
Company GLO and the Lagos Inland Revenue
Service.

DON JAZZY: The MAVIN Records boss signed a deal
with Samsung Africa and broke bank with the Loya
Milk deal. With his eyes firmly on the prize, the gifted
producer moved beyond the Mo'Hits beef to focus on
pushing and monetizing MAVIN content, while
expanding into fresh business areas. He's penned a
deal to produce the theme song for the Africa Cup of
Nations holding in 2013… And the recently launched
Pop Club is a year-end addition that'll sure bear
fruits….

Basketmouth’s Shoutout To Single Ladies

One of the best comedians in Nigeria, Bright
Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth is
a man who speaks his mind no matter whose
ox is gored.

The Glo Big Friday Show presenter is at it again.
What could it be this time?
Well, the highly revered comedian took to the
social networking site, Twitter on Sunday, 23rd,
2012 to bare his mind about single ladies that
nursed the ambition of getting married in 2012 and
such plans hit the rocks at the eleventh hour.

He tweeted thus:
"Shout Out to all d single ladies who thought they
would get married in 2012. u ve got just 1 saturday
left. Wish Ya'll Luck."
I hope his statement does not invoke the wrath of
single ladies. Because our forefathers says when
trouble sleep and Yanga go wake am;wetin him
dey find?Na palava.
