Obasanjo Vs Reporter

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the weekend caused a mild drama when he sighted PREMIUM TIMES' correspondent at the Government House in Ogun State.

The reporter tried to take a picture of the former president standing beside former Nigerian leader, Ernest Shonekan, with his camera phone, but got a dramatic response from Mr. Obasanjo.

"You again," the former president said. "That was how your blackberry phone was smashed."

One of Mr. Obasanjo's children, Oba, had smashed the blackberry phone of the PREMIUM TIMES journalist for taking the picture of the fire at the former president's house last week in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

Obasanjo to buy second hand phone

The journalist complained to Mr. Obasanjo about the destroyed phone and asked the former president what he intends to do about it.

The former number one citizen again responded in his characteristic dramatic and jocular manner.

"I will buy you another one, but if you don't mind, it has to be a fairly used one and with cheaper price," Mr. Obasanjo said.

At the end of the day's programme, our correspondent again approached the former president, requesting to follow him to his house to collect the promised blackberry phone; but Mr. Obasanjo turned it to another round of comedy.

"You this Ijesa man, I suspect you are the one who set my house on fire, and you want to come there again, I will buy your phone for you when I return from abroad."

After making the statement, the former president entered his vehicle, smiled and waved to the reporter.

Fantasia Not Cool With Gay Unless They Are Her Fan.

You may remember American Idol season three winner Fantasia Barrino from winning the third season of American Idol. What you may not know is that Fantasia isn't really cool with gay marriage — and she took to Instagram to let everyone know while also working out her own persecution complex. The image has been deleted, but here's the text:

"I rise above it all! The world is gone mad. Kids, the government, the church house … everybody trying! It's a lot that going on that the Bible speaks about we should not be doing. Weed legal in some places, gay marriage legal but yet I'm judged! Im not doing nothing for you … my life!"

The blowback was, of course, immediate — Huffington Post used the phrase "Anti-Gay Instagram Rant?" which isn't exactly right. Even as far as celebrity nonsense goes this mini-controversy would've been ephemeral... if it wasn't for this rather tone-deaf statement released by Barrino's PR reps — and, yes, they called it "Intragram."

"Comments made by Ms. Barrino through her Intragram account were recently taken far out of context, and the purpose of this release is to set the record straight," read the statement. "Ms. Barrino is not now, nor has she ever been an opponent of the LGBT community. She has supported and performed at numerous events that are sponsored by the LGBT community. Whether it's through a live performance or placement on social media, Ms. Barrino uses every opportunity to reach out and connect with her fans, all of her fans."

So, it's all cool — Fantasia has gay friends and gay fans! Right, gay fans? You will be buying her 2013 album, right? Cool. Just don't get married, thanks.

Funke Akindele Gets Endorsed By Jobberman.com

2013 is already looking big for actress-movie
producer Funke Akindele with the signing of an
endorsement deal with Nigeria's top jobs search
website Jobberman.
It has been gathered that the deal was signed in late
2012 and will last for one year.
Akindele will act as brand ambassador for the IT
company.
We could not immediately confirm how much she was
paid, but those familiar with the deal say it's 'a couple of
millions'.
'Being Nigeria's number one Jobs website, we realised
that there is a need to reach out to a set of people that
are not aware of the existence and usefulness of
Jobberman', a Jobberman executive tells us.

'With over 500,000 registered users, a large number of
active users of the internet are aware of Jobberman but
the set of people we are targeting now basically visit
Facebook and check mails only'.
Akindele, 36, is expected to appear in TV commercials
and record radio ads. She will also make appearances at
her Jenifa Foundation as well as Jobberman events.

Nollywood Mourns Bisi Komolafe

The showbiz industry was again thrown into
mourning on Tuesday following the death of
a fast-rising actress, Bisi Komolafe.
Many refused to initially believe the news
which started trending online on New Year
eve, especially as a similar story was
erroneously reported on Friday by an online
platform, claiming that a prominent actor was dead.

The truth about Komolafe, however, manifested when
some of her colleagues confirmed the news.
When our correspondent called cross-over actress,
Foluke Daramola, she was all tears and when asked what
was responsible for her weeping state, she said the
industry had lost an actress, revealing her to be
Komolafe.
There were speculations concerning how she actually
died. While it was said that she was slightly sick, an online
source said she died in the University College Hospital,
Ibadan after suffering complications from a four-month
pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage.
Actress Lizzy Anjorin, who told our correspondent that
she got wind of the news via the picture of the late
actress displayed by some of her BlackBerry contacts,
added that if it was true then it was a huge loss. She
stated, ''I had met her on set many times. She is a nice
person, a very nice actress.''
Also, popular comedy actor, Bolaji Amusan, otherwise
called Mr. Latin, said he heard the news on Tuesday.
Commenting on the deaths in the industry, Mr. Latin
explained that death was not occurring only among
actors and actresses.
Saying everybody would definitely die someday, he noted
that there was nothing anyone could do when death
comes.
He added, "People die daily. Only God knows the number
of people that have died globally between the last day in
2012 and the New Year. But because of our closeness to
some people and for the fact that they are famous, we
tend to express great loss when they die. The popularity
of dramatists and the love people have for them often
make their fans lament whenever any of them dies.''
According to him, even if a dramatist dies five years ago,
the death of another one may make some people to say
that many of the industry practitioners are dying.
''It is the love they have for actors and actresses that
make them think so. Death is inevitable. But it is so sad
that while people are rejoicing for the New Year, friends,
fans and colleagues of Komolafe are mourning. She was
a great and talented actress, very promising,'' he noted.
The deceased actress had featured in Igboro
Ti Daru,Omo Ghetto and Imisi Esu.
In 2012, the industry lost dramatists such as
Akin Ogungbe, Gogo Ombo, Ahmed Oduola (Dento), Enebeli Elebuwa and Pete Eneh.

Real Reasons Why Davido Parted Way With His Manager Asa Asika

It is no more news that David 'Davido' Adeleke has parted ways with his one-time manager, Asa Asika, but what has put asunder between them might be. 'Omo baba olowo', as Davido prides himself to be, fell out with Obi Asika's nephew due some reasons that would be revealed soon.

But before we take you into the nitty-gritty of how their once sweet relationship went sour, let us take you back into memory lane.

Recall that back in 2010, when Davido returned to Nigeria from the US, fate brought him and Asa together. Shortly after they met, Davido told Asa of his intention to hit the Nigerian music industry big time and Asa offered his assistance and Davido agreed to make Asa his manager.

Thereafter, Asa convinced Davido to feature his cousin, Naeto C, in his first single, 'Back Then' and then paid the latter an appearance fee worth N1million, the source further told gistbank.blogspot.com. Asa also deployed his uncle's (Obi Asika of Storm 360) connection to shoot Davido into limelight.

He also used the help of Olisa Adibua, who was a then a director at his uncle's Storm 360, to massively play Davido's 'Back Then' song on Beat FM, a Lagos FM station respected in the music industry in Nigeria, which also organises Industry Nite for artistes at Oriental Hotel) and other top Lagos radio stations with top OAPs giving Davido hypes on their shows.

Back to why the friends broke up:

Our source quipped that issues related to money became the gall that totally rendered their meat 'uneatable'. gistbank.blogspot.com learnt that while Asa was requesting for a bigger package from Davido in respect to manoy made from shows and endorsement deals, the self-acclaimed 'Omo baba olowo' reportedly felt Asa may have milked enough from him with his excessive demands for money.

This is because Asa was reported to demand for too much cash to run some things for Davido which the HKN team, Davido's label, felt Asa may be taking advantage of Davido being a billionaire's son to demand for such money.

Also, we learnt that HKN believed Asa was trying to assert more authority on Davido than the label because he claims to have made Davido to a superstar only for the label to take the glory and try to sideline him. "Asa and HKN always get on their nerves because Asa tells HKN that without him, their won't be Davido. So, the label became uncomfortable with that. They have to make him go by all means and Davido had no choice than to listen to them, the source squealed to us.

We now hear that HKN might contract Yemi Energy, Shank's manager anytime soon to become Davido's new manager. Talks are already at an advance stage.

Mc Oluomo Impregnates Nollywood Actress Liz Da Silva

If information at our disposal is anything to go by,
then the Oluomo of Oshodi and Aare Ona Kakanfo of
the National Union of Roads Transport Workers
(NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, a.k.a MC Oluomo,
must be expecting yet another addition to his family
this year.
The popular transporter, who's said to have dated so
many Yoruba actresses, we gathered, is responsible
for the recent pregnancy of Yoruba actress, Lizzy Da
Silva.
According to inside sources, Lizzy Da Silva, as we
speak is four months gone and accusing fingers are
being pointed at one of her intimate lovers simply
identified as Akeem but checks here and there have
confirmed that, the father of the unborn baby might
be Musiliu Oluomo after all.
What precipitated this confirmation is the actress'
recent movement as she`s said to always be the
cynosure of all eyes at MC Oluomo's office in Oshodi
and she was also one of the VIP guests at the Oshodi
carnival day where she was on the high table with MC
Oluomo with her slightly heavy tummy.
On her own, Lizzy is said to be very
excited with her present condition but only keeping
the father of her baby between her and her bedside.
The only thing that gave her away is the clandestine
Oshodi movement because of the belief that it`s not
possible for her to be flaunting another man's baby in
another man's office, more so, the relationship
between her and MC Oluomo has been so cordial and
affectionate ever since her senior colleague, Iyabo
Ojo introduced the duo.

My Baby Will Never Appear In Keeping Up With The Kardashians - Kim Kardashian

Celebrity babies get the spotlight even before they are born, and baby Kimye is not an exception.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have however made a huge decision about their unborn child — he or she will NOT be a reality TV star … not as an infant, anyway.

While most of the Kardashians' lives are fodder for their hit reality show … sources close to Kim told TMZ she and Kanye don't want their baby dragged into the family biz. They'd rather keep that part of their lives separate from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" … so they can "ensure real privacy" for the baby.

According to sources, Kim is saying the baby will NEVER be on the family's show or have its own spin-off — nor will there be a 'Kim Gives Birth' TV special … she and Kanye are nixing that idea too. However, Kim will not be shy about her remaining months of pregnancy. We're told she intends to share that with reality cameras because she thinks being "pregnant is great and cute."

2013 Prophecies As Revealed By Prophet T.B. Joshua

Prophet T.B. Joshua in a recent service revealed some
prophecies for the year 2013 for individuals around the
World.
His message was quite compelling and different from
what we have been hearing recently.
It is indeed a prophecy with a difference and caused us
to stop and ponder his words:
Let me give you a few out of many prophecies…
The prophecies for nations, continents and for those at
the helm of affairs shall be announced during the next
Sunday Service.
1. A year of surprises – I am seeing many great, famous,
popular and rich men and politicians will become helpless
and in need of help in matters of sickness, disease,
finances, death, etc. One of the causes: They have failed
to reward those who helped them to succeed. This is the
year of judgment, especially for politicians who use youth
to support their political ambitions without reward after
winning power. Tell your neighbour: Reward those who
help you succeed now.
2. Those in the foodstuff business will have a field day
this year. Farming and agriculture will be the order of the
day and will help greatly to be the source of solution this
year. People engaged in it will be greatly blessed.
3. Those anxious about God and who hate sin – the
faithful – your prayers for many years are not lost. This
year, there will be instant answers to your prayers,
especially those who have been seeking for the fruit of
the womb. The long-time barren will become mothers of
many babies this New Year.
4. Natural disasters will be many this New Year, such as
motor accidents, sea sickness and air disasters. Let us
move to God. With God, all things are possible.
5. Stop praying against those who hurt you. This year,
you will see clearly that God is God of vengeance.
Instead, you should pray for them.
6. Do charity work – feed the poor and the needy and
give scholarships to those who deserve them. This year,
there is great reward in doing this if you do it with all
your heart. No matter how little, share it with others.
Share their pain and share their joy.
7. Our youth who think always of travelling should use
the money to go into agriculture or foodstuff business
because in the New Year, God will bless them. They will
achieve greatness by transacting in agriculture and
foodstuff and become successful in export and import
business. The money I am talking about could be in the
region of N100,000, N200,000, N250,000 ($1,000,
$1,500, $2,000).
Those who have been working for many years and have
never been satisfied with the job and salary they receive,
the little limited resources at their disposal should be
invested in foodstuff business or agriculture, especially
those already married.
They should divide themselves in such a way that either
the husband or wife should step down from service
where they receive salary and face agriculture.
Foodstuff business and agriculture or farming are
anointed businesses this New Year, to revive the world
from economic depression.
This is the secret of God revealed to you today. Quote
me; you will not regret doing it. My name is T.B. Joshua.
