Beyoncé Reps Brooklyn Nets In New Orleans While Warming Up For Superbowl Performance!!!

Beyoncé loves the Nets! BeyBey posted a photo of herself in this Brooklyn Nets tee on Instagram.King Bey supported her hubby, Jay-Z's NBA teamin her Brooklyn Nets Off-The-Shoulder tee while prepping for her Super Bowl Half Time Performance.

In related Beyoncé news, her Superbowl halftimeperformance will be followed just weeks later by the premiere of her HBO doc. We've already shown you the trailer but Saturday's edition of NYDailyNews offers up some criticism of the piece, namely that she is the sole voice of the film:

"Life Is But a Dream," which debuts Feb. 16 on HBO, doesn't pretend or aspire to be more than an autobiography — one of history's most skilled and successful female singers telling thetale in her own words and pretty much only her own words.

HBO bills the film as "an intimate feature-length documentary." But with Beyoncé as director, executive producer and star, let's not act surprised that it includes no other narrators.

In one of the opening segments, she talks about how she has always wanted "independence," that is, to answer only to herself. Only a few stars shine brightly enough to claim that prize, and Beyoncé has become one of them.

Hearing only her voice is revealing in a way, since it tells us what she considers to be the parts of her story that matter. Still, it does at times leave us wanting one of those other voices.

When she talks about how painful it was to splitfrom her father and begin to manage her own career in 2011, it would be interesting to hear his response. We don't.
We don't even hear voices that would very likely echo her own. While she makes repeated and touching references to her husband, Jay-Z, we see him just briefly and never hear him.

"Life Is But a Dream" also spends little time on Beyoncé's past. We get a few clips of her singing as a child and little reference to Destiny's Child, the group that launched her stardom.

More important to her are ruminations on the rewards and pressures of stardom. Some of the footage of fans, when they aren't in their seats, makes them look pretty scary.

The show includes several concert performances, all delightful and all illustrating why she's Beyoncé.

She seems to have taken equal delight, though, from tucking in brief diary-like ruminations she has recorded on her computer over the years.

Covering subjects like the chaos of touring and her joy at being pregnant, none is startling or especially revealing. Still, they lead her to muse, "Thank God for my computer. When there's no one else to talk to, I can talk it out with myself."

Beyoncé references a few rough moments, like the miscarriage that led her to write "the saddest song" of her life. But the fuller story of Beyoncé, who at 31 comes scary close to having it all, will have to be told elsewhere.

Wow, sounds like this documentary makes Bey look like a total narcissist. Bet the stans with loveit though…

Why Does Peter of P'Square Keep Impregnating Lola Omotayo?

This unjustifiable act has been troubling yours truly for some time now but I decided to wait till after Lola's delivery before I raise my concerns. The attitude of some male musicians with regards to their ways with ladies is just not encouraging. These guys keep putting ladies in family way with impunity.

Our focus, however, is on Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo. Note that the lady is Yoruba, before some folks 'cash in' on this and call it another post against a particular tribe.

Please, what is wrong with Peter Okoye that he has decided to keep impregnating Lola without taking her to the altar? Or is getting a woman pregnant at will hisown definition of marriage?

After Lola gave birth to a baby boy for him in September 2008, out of wedlock, I thought it was a 'mistake' and that Peter Okoye would do the 'right thing' shortly after. But I was wrong; nothing happened. Rather, he impregnated her again and, on Tuesday, she gave birth to another child for him, this time a baby girl.

But my question is: As what? Is Lola just a 'baby factory machine' for Peter Okoye or what?

This was what Tuface Idibia did to several ladies and today he's "struggling" to marry one of them

Kcee Blast NBC Over Banned Music Video

A member of the defunct KC Presh music group, KCEE has lambasted the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) ban on some musical videos by some Nigerian singers.

KCEE took to popular social media site, Twitter, to label those in the broadcasting regulators as 'drunk'.

According to KCEE, "I think we have some drunk people working in NBC, what's wrong with the videos they just banned?" KCEE asked on twitter.

Early this morning, news went viral on social media that some music videos have been reportedly banned by the NBC over 'offences' raging from suggestive dance moves to vulgar lyrics.

Interestingly, some of these banned music videos have been receiving massive airplays on various TV stations for over six months.

P-Square's recently released Alingo was also banned just as Taliman's 'Koma Roll' music, which has been on TV stations for over six months, was banned too.

Charles Novia Blast Fake tongued Radio/TV Broadcasters

Listening to some Nigerian radio stations can either leave one permanently befuddled or just plain angry all the time. The latter is what happens to me mostly, so I stopped listening to most radio stations for some time. The television stations are not any better. The cause of one's linear anguish is not hard to find. Confusing accents of the presenters! Yes, one cannot really tell if the presenters on radio and television are from Miami, Manchester or Mushin or if they are just a bunch of clueless upstarts mouthing words which seem to make them happy but leaves the listener with a terrible 'earache'.

Tracing the history of radio and television presentation in Nigeria, who can ever forget the glorious days and diction of Soni Irabor, Jim Lawson Madueke, Bimbo Oloyede, Tony Abolo, Donald Everedjo, Sienne All-Well Brown, Ruth Benemesia Opia, Lola Alakija, John Momoh, Silver Oforgu and so many other articulate and fantastic presenters who shaped the entertainment industry with their style and panache of presentation?

What these names have in common is a clear and distinct presentation style with a pleasant-sounding smattering of perfect Queens English and intonations, mixed with the distinct mother-tongue of the personalities ( if you will) . These guys made millions of people shape up their articulation. We wanted to talk like them, to present like them, in the very clear and African-tinged intonations they had. We loved them and still do.

Being a former colony of Britain, it was only natural that our Spoken English as citizens of Nigeria, had to be a bit uppity and middle class even when many of us were of a lower rung in the society ladder. But that helped many people aspire to change their destinies in their chosen fields.

Sadly, in the mid-nineties, the sweeping American culture crept into our mainstream radio and things changed, albeit horribly. Before we knew it, the 'Yo, Yo,Yo!' presenters hit the airwaves. Sounding very American ( and most times Ghetto Americanese too) became the fad. So, the beautiful accents we have as Africans just disappeared with the 'dash monkey banana' borrowed accents.

Almost every Presenter came on air sounding like poor imitations of Hollywood Black Gangsters or rap artistes. These days, you just have to strain your ears to hear anything they say on air. Words like 'alright' has given way to 'aight!' and so many examples. It's not so much the fake accents that pisses me off but the lack of a true identity by these presenters! Some are confused and don't even know if the accent they speak with are American or British or just a horrible cacophony of both. All these 'gonna, wanna, burra, berra' Presenters!

Una nor go kill person.

I have visited South Africa a few times and one of the things I like about their Presenters on radio and television is the NATURALNESS. The Black South African Presenters don't attempt to hide their MOTHER-TONGUE accents with the English Language. In fact, it makes them so distinct and wonderful on air.I like Supersports Presenters on DSTV from SA like Thomas Mlambo and even the Ivorian Football Analyst ( can't remember his name now).

You feel so at ease with them.

You hear them. ( I must also commend Charles Anazodo and Praise and the female presenter on Supersports Nigeria. They are superb in their presentation). And that is not to say that we don't have presenters in Nigeria at present who are superb. We do have but they seem to be in a minority compared with the horde of fake- accented elephants who have assailed the Nigerian airwaves. Some of them have so perfected the art of 'forming' so well that they can't even pronounce Nigerian names at all on air!'Okoro Feeling Funky' jockeys! As Basket Mouththe comedian would say ,'Their Father!'

A Letter On Behalf Of 100M Youth To Cossy Orjiakor And Tonto Dike

An aggrieved youth from Abuja has written an open letter to controversial actresses, Cossy Orjiakor and Tonto Dikeh over what he described as their 'dirty' lifestyles, which is now polluting the new generation.

An unedited letter written by Prince Tijani Dauda on behalf of 100million Nigerian youth reads;

I am personally writing this letter, on behalf of all Nigerian youths, home and abroad who have so much, on many occasions, on social networks, media, e.t.c raised displeasure over the recent attitude and lifestyle of the said two actress/musician, COSSY ORJIAKOR and TONTO DIKE.

These two classes of people have decided to take the bull by their horn, to pollute, pontificate and parade themselves in the name of stars, to display nudity to our society. We are living in an age where our children are intelligently enlightened by what they see, and in most cases, they tag some of these actress as role models.

This is not a good example to our children, youths and people of our dear country Nigeria that is so blessed and has respect for culture, ethnic and religion. It doesn't speak well at all. The recent post of nude pictures of Cossy has generated a lot of controversies, and if properly checked you will see how our youths are crying to call for a stop to this irresponsible act. Enough is enough.

We can't take it anymore. Our culture forbids it. Islam forbids it. Christianity forbids it.

We are therefore, calling on this able, respected and well known body to take immediate step to ensuring that it is stopped and they should be served a warning notice.

A copy of this letter has also, at this same time being transmitted to other relevant entertainment bodies and government.
God bless Nigeria.

Signed
Prince Tijani Dauda
