There's somebody who is actually responsible for a lot of the changes I've gone through as an individual.

She's a woman who makes me want to be better. She's very interested in my career, my sense of style and fitness. I owe a lot of the changes that are happening to me especially this year to her and the kind of attention that she's given me.

That sounds sweet. How long have you been together?

About 8 months. We met under very "interesting" circumstances which I will not discuss.

The way you say "interesting" means it's probably funny and I'm itching to hear it

Maybe when we're getting married, I'd talk about it.

You know she is "the one" already?
Yes.

What makes you say that and what qualities attracted you to her?

It's something you just know. There was a connection. You don't have to say words, when you look at each other, you know that it's there. When I'm not with her, I constantly want to; I constantly try to make her proud of me in everything I do.

245 People Dead After Nightclub Catches Fire

Local police told NBC News that at least 245 people were killed in a nightclub fire in southern Brazil on Sunday after a band's pyrotechnics show set the establishment ablaze, and fleeing patrons were unable to find the emergency exits. The toll was expected to rise, police said. Bodies were still being removed from the Kiss nightclub in the southern city of Santa Maria, Major Gerson da Rosa Ferreira, who was leading rescue efforts at the scene for the military police, told Reuters.

Ferreira told Reuters that the victims died of asphyxiation or from being trampled, and that there were possibly as many as 500 people inside the club when the fire broke out at about2:30 a.m.

Television footage showed people sobbing outside the club, while shirtless firefighters used sledge hammers and axes to knock down an exterior wall to open up an exit. "It was really fast. There was a lot of smoke, really darksmoke," survivor Aline Santos Silva, 29, told Globonews TV. "We were only able to get out quickly because we were in a VIP area close to the door."

President Dilma Rousseff cut short a visit to Chile and was returning to Brazil following the blaze, her spokesperson said. Luiza Sousa, a civil police official in Santa Maria, told Reuters the blaze started when a member of the band or its production team ignited a flare, which then set fire to the ceiling. The fire spread "in seconds," Sousa said.

Santa Maria is some 186 miles west of the statecapital of Porto Alegre. "A sad Sunday!" tweeted Rio Grande do Sul Governor Tarso Genro. He said "all possible measures" were being taken in response and that he was on his way to the scene.

Get Rich Or Steal Chicken Trying: Two Men Accused Of Stealing 65k Worth Of Chicken Wings

Gwinnett County police arrested this week two men accused of stealing 10 pallets of frozen chicken wings from a local cold storage facility, a haul with an estimated value exceeding $65,000.

#If the rumored Super Bowl wing shortage comes to roost in Gwinnett, you can (allegedly) blame these guys: Dewayne Carl Patterson and Renaldo Cortez Jackson.

According to incident reports, Patterson, 35, and Jackson, 26, were both employees at Nordic Cold Storage off Pleasantdale Road — just inside county lines in Doraville — during a midday heist on Jan. 12. Police believe the two men "backed up an Enterprise rental truck to one of the bay doors, and loaded 10 pallets of Tyson frozen chicken wings."

Between 11 and 11:20 a.m., Jackson reportedly did the loading with a forklift while Patterson served as lookout.

Both men were arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of felony theft by taking. They were released the same day on$2,950 bond.

Jail records listed their new occupations as "unemployed."

Rumors of a possible wing shortage for the Super Bowl — which will be played Feb. 3 — have swirled in recent days, as some fear last summer's drought will have an impact on what the National Chicken Council calls "unquestionably the biggest time of the year for wings."

The whereabouts of Gwinnett's stolen wings were unclear Friday, as the real question loomed: Where were they planning on getting all that ranch?

Recently, The National Chicken Council released a report that said the demand for wings this year is at "an all-time high" due to decreased wing production caused by the high cost of corn and feed prices.

Katy Perry Announces Her Own Popchips Flavor

The "Wide Awake" singer and Popchips spokesperson has announced her signature addition to the snack brand, Katy's Kettle Corn.

"Popchips had never ventured into sweet territory before, but I wanted to add my personal touch when creating a flavor," Perry said in a release. "After a series of intensive taste tests, I'm proud to introduce the best of both worlds, and my dream snack realized -- Katy's Kettle Corn!"

It's Official: JJ Abrams Closes Deal to Direct 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

The "Star Trek" filmmaker will work with writer Michael Arndt to develop the script.


JJ Abrams has officially signed on to direct the next installment of the Star Wars franchise.

Disney has closed a deal with the filmmaker to come aboard Episode VII of the sci-fi series, confirming reports from Thursday that the Star Trek and Mission Impossible III director was negotiating for the job.

Landing Abrams for the high-profile gig is a coup for Disney and Lucasfilm's new chief Kathleen Kennedy .

"It's very exciting to have J.J. aboard leading the charge as we set off to make a new Star Wars movie," said Kennedy. "J.J. is the perfect director to helm this. Beyond having such great instincts as a filmmaker, he has an intuitive understanding of this franchise.

He understands the essence of the Star Wars experience, and will bring that talent to create an unforgettable motion picture."

Abrams said in November that he wasn't interested in taking over the venerable franchise from creator George Lucas . But sources tell THR that Kennedy contacted Abrams in early January and went to visit the filmmaker at the Santa Monica offices of his Bad Robot production company.

Kennedy is said to have won over the filmmaker with her pitch. She will now develop the property with Abrams and writer Michael Arndt , who has been writing the script since October.

Episode VII is set for release in 2015, but sources say Abrams has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it.

Abrams has a lot on his plate. His Star Trek Into Darkness is set for release in May, and sources say he is committed to producing for Paramount the next installments of the Mission Impossible and Star Trek franchises, among others. He's also a prolific TV producer with several pilots in contention for the fall season.

Box Office Milestone: 'Les Miserables' Sings Its Way to $300 Million Worldwide

Universal's big-screen adaptation of the stage musical is nominated for eight Academy Awards, including best picture.

Director Tom Hooper's Les Miserables hit the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office on Friday a sit continued to rise up the chart of the most successful musicals of all time.

Les Mis , from Universal and Working Title, has now earned $134.3 million in North America and $165.7 million internationally for an even $300 million. Through Sunday, the movie's total should hit $311.9million, eclipsing the Oscar-winning musical Chicago ($306.8 million).

With an ensemble cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway , Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried , Les Mis is nominated for eight Academy Awards, including best picture, best actor (Jackman) and best supporting actress (Hathaway). Both Jackman and Hathaway won Golden Globe awards earlier this month.

Les Mis currently ranks as the fourth top grossing musical of all time behind fellow Universal pic Mamma Mia! ($609.8 million), Grease ($395 million)and Chicago.

Overseas, Les Mis is a favorite at the UK box office, where it has held the No. 1 spot for three weeks in a row for a 15-day cume of $34.1 million, the top gross ever for a Jackman film.

Les Mis has yet to open in 31 countries, including Brazil, Italy and Thailand.

About my weird hairdos

I have always want to be different. I never like to blend in with the crowd. It is not just because of music, I have been like this for a long time. I remember back in the days when my friends were measuring their beauty with the length of their hair. I was not interested then so I cut my hair. I had my hair coloured when I was 15 and my mother did not really mind because I was not bringing trouble to the house and I did not have bad grades. I was just messing with my hair. I have been messing with my hair for a long time. I really just like to be different. As long as what you are doing does not bring shame to the name, Alordiah, and you are focused on school then my parents are okay with you.

Parents' reaction to choice of career

Because I was in school when my music career started, they did not like my career path. They did not exactly tell me to stop doing music. My father just told me that I had been serious with school for a long time and he hoped that I would not come back home and say I wanted to drop out. He advised me to ensure I finish school. I love school, I have always loved school, I was one the best students in some courses. It was entertaining to me. I just was not on the path of dropping out to do music. Because he understood that, he let me do it, knowing that I had always been good with my grades. I don't think he really had problems as such. My parents are very sweet and calm. They would let you do what you want. I know that my father can not stand tattoos. That is the one thing I know he can not stand, not that I want to have tattoos. There are boundaries. I don't think wanting to do music was crossing that boundary with my parents. My parents are very supportive people.

Coping with my academics and music

I was a science student. I was not a bookworm but I knew I had to get out of school with good grades. It has been like that for me since primary school. There was a time in primary school that for four straight years straight I was between the first and third position. In secondary school I was in science class and I had very good grades in the subjects I did. The only problem I had was with further mathematics. I did not enjoy that subject at all. It was at Bowen University that music really kicked in and it happened in my final year. That was when I really wanted to start doing rap. It was a tough year because it is a year you have to get out of school without any problems. Luckily for me when I started in school, my CGPA was on a first class basis. I started out with a first class and in school it is either your CGPA increases or drops. It was difficult to increase so I made sure I had a Second Class Upper Degree. The kind of school I finished from doesn't let you do anything. The only time I could express myself in terms of music was in the school shows which happened like once a year. I never had the temptation to drop out of school. The kind of house I grew up we don't get things on a platter. We did not have everything that we wanted but we had what we needed. My father would go out of his way to provide for us so we would not be envious of other kids. Knowing that my parents went out of their way for me made me know I had to be my best in school.

Her issues with Eldee

It is difficult talking something I do not know anything about. I actually do not know anything about me getting dropped by his record label. I can not talk about things I do not know about. It happened in 2012; this is 2013, I am moving on, working on my album right now. I can not talk about things that did not happen because if I do, I would be telling you lies.

Why I released a song shortly after the claims of being dropped from Eldee's record label

I love to do music and when I am held back from doing the music I love to do, my body cringes. Soon as I have the opportunity to do the music that I love to do, I I can not stop myself, I do it. Releasing musical tracks is what I love to do.

Allegations that my song promotes drug use and abuse

That is the misconception people get from my song titled high, which is one of my father's favourites. If that is one of his favourites, it should tell you that older people understand better than the younger people. The younger generation does not like reading anymore, nobody reads. Everybody is shallow which is one of the reasons why the music we have in the industry is the way it is. I am not surprised that the song is being misinterpreted because that is what the younger generation keeps talking about these days, getting high. If you listen to the lyrics of that song, it is not about using drugs, it was about going through struggles in life. Which is what I was going through andat the end of the day what I really love to do which is my music becomes my getaway. It becomes my high. That was what "High" was all about. My music does not promote drugs and drug abuse, I am not a fan of drug usage. I do not smoke and I do not drink. My music promotes love, unity, peace, I am all about love and happiness.

My relationship

I am single but not searching. My mother is working on that. She is going to get me a husband from the village. I don't know how the search is going for her though. I think Nigerian men are fine, we have the best crop of men in Nigeria. My major priority is to be focused on necessary things. I don't see relationships as unnecessary but I see sex as unnecessary. I am not a married woman, it is not something I would wake up in the morning and say I would indulge in it. It was created for married people. It is seen as a part of relationships by this generation because people are influenced by what they see on television and read in magazines. The youths are getting very enlightened.
