Game's On a Roll With 5th No. 1 R&B/Hip-Hop Album

As "Jesus Piece" opens with 86,000 copies (according to Nielsen SoundScan), Game now counts five No. 1 titles on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with the last four coming consecutively. His major label debut, "The Documentary," spent five weeks atop the chart in 2005, followed by four low-charting independent releases and then "Doctor's Advocate" (2006), "LAX" (2008), and "The R.E.D. Album" (2011). The latter three all debuted at No. 1.
The high bow of "Jesus Piece" is partly attributed to the continuing growth of lead single "Celebration," featuring Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne. On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, the track (which samples Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's classic "1st of Tha Month") reaches its new peak of No. 24 in its 13th week on the chart. The album's second single "All That (Lady)," featuring Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Fabolous and Jeremih, also debuts on the chart this week at No. 48.

Last week's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums leader, Wiz Khalifa's "O.N.I.F.C.," falls 1-4 this week (40,000; down 71%) while Cee Lo Green's "Cee Lo's Magic Moment" gets pushed back 4-5 (36,000; up 20%). Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" (61,000; down 20%) and Rihanna's "Unapologetic" (51,000; down 15%) remain stationary at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

Debuting just outside of the top five week is Big Boi's sophomore solo offering "Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors," moving 30,000 copies for the No. 6 spot. His solo debut "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty" opened at No. 3 in 2010 with 62,000 copies and stayed on the charts for 32 weeks. Comparatively, all seven of OutKast's releases broke the top 10 with three reaching No. 1: "ATLiens" (1996), "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" (2003) and the "Idlewild" soundtrack (2006).

Over on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Rihanna's "Diamonds" continues its dominance of the chart reaching its 11th week at No. 1. The chart-topping run ties Usher's "Climax" for the longest of the year and is closing in on the Nielsen Music era record of 15 weeks held by Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" (2006). Note: Rihanna's run is the first since the chart methodology was changed to include digital download sales and streaming information.
Just below "Diamonds," Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" makes a strong move for the top, skipping 4-2 in its 16th week on the chart. The Seattle duo's breakout single sold 102,000 downloads this week (a 23% increase) marking its biggest sales week yet and producing an identical 4-2 move on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs.

"Thrift Shop's" hop pushes down Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" (3-2) and Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools (Drank)" (3-4) while G.O.O.D. Music's "Clique" and Miguel's "Adorn" stay put at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. A$AP Rocky's "F**kin Problems" continues its ascent, jumping 10-7 thanks to a 47% increase to 24.4 million listener impressions in overall airplay according to Nielsen BDS. That move pushes down the rest of R&B/Hip-Hop Songs' top 10 with Juicy J's "Bandz a Make Her Dance" slipping 7-8, Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You" falling 8-9 and Lil Wayne's "No Worries" descending 9-10.

Women Busted With Drugs In Their Diapers At JFK Airport

This picture shows the padding and pouches of the cocaine diapers and what are believed to be a pair of one of the ladies' discarded pants
One of the Ladies cocaine diapers
Two Bronx women were arrested after allegedly attempting to smuggle six and a half kilos of cocaine hidden in diapers under their pants through John F. Kennedy International Airport on Saturday.

However, Customs and Border Protection officers were alerted to the pair when drug-sniffing dogs started to go wild. Checking their luggage, but finding no trace of drugs, the officers began a pat-down of the two women and discovered the cocaine filled diapers around the ladies hind quarters.
The ladies were then read their rights and arrested and taken into custody.

Returning to New York's JFK on a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic, Priscilla Pena and Michelle Blassingale were relying on the cocaine girdles to give off a natural appearance.

Zac Efron to Star in Akiva Goldsman's Thriller 'The Falling'

Cannes Film Festival | Cannes, May 23-27
Zac Efron and Akiva Goldsman are teaming up for a mystery supernatural project at Warner Bros. titled The Falling.
Efron will star in the film and produce via his Warners-based Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions and Goldsman's Weed Road banner. Also on board to produce are husband-and-wife team Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures.

Every effort is being made to protect the logline of the project, which is being described as an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being.
The idea originated within the studio, which presented it to Goldsman and Efron. Goldsman and Harold, the screenwriter who worked on Warners' upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi movie All You Need Is Kill, then hammered out a story.

The producers will now undertake a search for a screenwriter to take Falling, which is a working title, to the next level of development.

Efron (CAA, Alchemy Entertainment, Felker Toczek) this week started shooting Parkland, a JFK drama that counts Jacki Weaver and Paul Giamatti as part of its ensemble cast. Ninjas Runnin’ Wild recently wrapped production on Are We Officially Dating?, an indie romantic comedy in which Efron stars with Miles Teller and Imogen Poots.

Goldsman is shooting his directorial debut, Winter’s Tale, in New York, working with a cast that includes Colin Farrell, Will Smith and Russell Crowe. He also is in post-production on Lone Survivor, Peter Berg’s tale of the tragic events of Operation Red Wing.

The film gives viewers unprecedented access as Snoop reflects on his turbulent and rapid rise from Long Beach to international icon to his rechristening as "Snoop Lion."

Details of How Kevin Tsujihara Won Warner Bros.

DO NOT USE Issue 5 REP Tsujihara Boxing - H 2013

It might not have been pretty, but Time Warner chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes might have made the best choice.
The consensus inside and outside Warner Bros. is that Bewkes did not cover himself in glory with the messy, protracted process that went into choosing a new CEO for the studio. But in Bewkes' naming the long-shot choice -- home entertainment president Kevin Tsujihara -- many insiders say they feel relieved and even optimistic.

"Kevin's a leader. He's an adult. He's very fair-minded," says one insider. Although the fate of the other two internal competitors for the job -- Bruce Rosenblum, president of the Warner Bros. Television Group, and film studio chief Jeff Robinov -- remains unclear, many say Warners has enough depth of talent to remain dominant with or without them. "What's been more destructive is the not knowing," this source says.
Tsujihara, 48, heads the most digital-oriented aspect of Hollywood's most prolific studio, which could position him to preside over an evolving business model. But he lacks creative experience making films or, more important, television programs. Bewkes had said that Time Warner primarily is a TV company, which seemingly pointed to Rosenblum as the choice. (Warners is a leading supplier to the networks, with such hit shows as CBS' The Big Bang Theory, ABC's The Middle and NBC's The Voice.) Rosenblum also was the longtime protege of outgoing chairman Barry Meyer, who tells THR that "Kevin is the right person to unify the team and make it successful."

Analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities, who calls himself "a huge Tsujihara fan," suggests that Hollywood insiders might be underestimating the importance of Tsujihara's new-technology background: "Kevin isn't a creative guy … but I don't think that matters to Bewkes as much as having a guy in charge who understands the opportunities and threats posed by digital distribution. Kevin definitely gets it, probably better than any media CEO." Brian Wieser of Pivotal Research Group agrees: "Tsujihara's selection reflects the complexity of this new ecosystem."
Several insiders also believe that Bewkes simply had a personal, even emotional preference for the affable Tsujihara. "He picked a person with whom he is personally most comfortable -- period," says one veteran Warners hand. And these observers believe Bewkes spent months wrestling with conflicting impulses. An executive closely associated with the company says he believes Rosenblum "had it in the bag and overplayed his hand by acting assumptively, internally and externally." This observer adds: "Bewkes doesn't like assumptive people. He likes being contrarian."
The question now is whether Rosenblum and Robinov will remain at the company. (In a statement, Rosenblum declared his disappointment at being passed over, while Robinov -- though clearly also miffed -- released a statement of support for Tsujihara. Both declined further comment.) Several sources say Comcast could be a home for Robinov, though it's not clear he would prefer reporting to Steve Burke. And Robinov, who has presided over the mega-blockbuster Batman/Dark Knight and Hangover franchises, could overcome his dismay partly because he's on reasonably good terms with Tsujihara and partly because he might not find another opportunity to match the allure of sitting atop the Warners studio.

"He's shifted to realize he should do what he can to survive because the options are limited and his personality is sometimes controversial," says one associate. But this observer thinks Tsujihara might want to install his own choice down the road -- "once Kevin gets entrenched and Robinov can't live without the brass ring."
Rosenblum might face pressure sooner. His contract is up in August, and there has been longtime friction with Tsujihara. Several sources believe Peter Roth, CEO of Warner Bros. Television, is looking to be elevated, and they believe that keeping him is a greater imperative for Tsujihara and Bewkes than retaining Rosenblum. Still, some observers believe Rosenblum might opt to stay if he can -- "unless he's got another offer someplace else that's really sexy," says one.
"I hope both of them stay," Tsujihara tells THR. "They're both very talented executives."

Pastor Goes Wild, Pulls Out Gun On Its Member

The Benue State Police Command, yesterday, arrested the pastor of a new generation church in Katsina-Ala (names withheld) for illegal possession of fire arms and assault on the church’s accountant.
Vanguard gathered from sources that the pastor was apprehended with the firearm by men of the Benue State Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, in Katsina-Ala where he allegedly tried to kill the accountant of the church, Mr. Philip Toryila, during a serious disagreement over money.

According to our source, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the pastor ordered the church accountant to handover church monies to him for execution of a project and he refused.
The refusal of the accountant angered the pastor who engaged him in a fracas and in the process pulled out a gun on the accountant.
In the process, the accountant shouted for help which attracted the attention of another church official who alerted the police and they quickly drafted some armed men of the squad to the place and arrested the pastor.

The source added that the accountant
sustained a major facial injury and other parts of his body and was quickly rushed to a private hospital in Katsina-Ala where is now receiving treatment.

Confirming the story, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Suprintendent of Police Daniel Ezeala, said, “the arrested pastor was brought to the state command and he will soon be charged to court for illegal possession of firearms but we are still conducting investigations into the matter.”

Lost Camera Gives Kas Sleepless Night

An industry authority has informed gistbank.blogspot.com that Nigerian singer, Kas Lionheart Jonathan, famously known as Kas, is presently not at rest over the contents in his reported missing digital camera.
While at a celebrity hang-out in Victoria Island, Lagos in December 2012, the ‘Wine For Me’ crooner reportedly lost his camera, which sources said contains some explicit pictures of Kas with a controversial actress (name withheld) in the Nigerian film industry.

Kas is now said to be having sleepless nights as he fears that some of the nude pictures of him with the actress might find its way to the media, especially on blogs and on social media platforms.

This, gistbank.blogspot.com learnt, brought about the bait of a $2000-reward the music producer is dangling before anybody that could recover his lost digital camera, which a source told gistbank.blogspot.com is far more than the worth of the lost camera itself.

John Mikel Obi To Miss Quarter Final Clash With Ivory Coast

A top member of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Paul Bassey, has cleared the air on the confusion surrounding Mikel Obi’s availability for the quarter-finals battle between Nigeria and Ivory Coast at the ongoing Nations Cup in South Africa.

Speaking this morning from South Africa on a live TV programme, Sport Splash, an LTV 8 programme sport show, when called by the presenter, Godwin Enakhena, Bassey made it clear that if Mikel has received two yellow cards in the group matches, which he has, he will automatically miss the quarter-finals match against Ivory Coast.

Speaking earlier on the show, Ben Alaiya, the Super Eagles Media Officer, said that the team was expecting to hear or get a letter from CAF stating that Mikel would not be eligible to play the quarter-finals match against Ivory Coast.

Mikel picked a second yellow card on Tuesday when Nigeria played her last Group C match against Burkina Faso, won by the Eagles by two goals
