Wizkid Out Of EME

Wizkid has deleted Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) from his Twitter bio, amidst speculations that he has left the music label.

The Banky W-owned EME, first spotted the sweet-voiced singer, when he was struggling to get a record deal and signed him on, from where he has become the superstar he is today. However, in the past weeks, there have been talkof Wizzie becoming bigger than the label and discontent from both parties.

From his adjustments on his Twitter profile, it seems the bubble has finally burst. Wizkid has removed both EME and Kovict Music and replaced them with Godwin Tom – who took over from Osagie Osarenkhoe last year and @DisturbingLDN (which is said to be Tinie Tempah's people), as his new management team.

Wizkid also posted a series of cryptic tweets that read: "Moving on to start all over again!… F**k it!.." and "Don't take loyalty for stupidity.. don't!.."

Things are expected to become clearer in the coming days.

Virgin Atlantic Rejected Me Because Of My African Name But Offered Me An Interview When I Re-Applied As Craig Owen

photo
Virgin Atlantic was today accused of racism after allegedly rejecting a job application from an African refugee, but accepting him when he applied with a British name.
Max Kpakio was turned down for a call centre job and when he suspected his foreign-sounding name was at fault, he re-submitted his application under the name Craig Owen.
The 36-year-old graduate was born in Liberia, but has lived in the UK for the past 10 years and is now a British citizen.
When his application to work at a Virgin call centre in Swansea was rejected, he was convinced it was due to his African name.
Not only was he invited for interview when he applied as Craig Owen, but the company repeatedly contacted him encouraging his application - even though it was nothing more than a simplified version of his genuine CV.
After he failed to respond to their initial email, they sent a string of messages saying how much they were looking forward to meeting him.

'There was an enormous difference in the way I was treated when I used a British name,' Mr Kpakio said.
'When I was first sent a rejection, I couldn't understand it - I thought I had provided a very good CV.
'I'd offered advice to clients over the telephone before, so I believed I was a very good candidate for the job.

'It occurred to me that my ethnic origin may have something to do with the rejection. I then decided to make a further application to Virgin, using the name Craig Owen.
'They were in touch with me seven or eight times, and kept coming back to me when I didn't respond.'

Mr Kpakio moved to Swansea with his three children in 2002, to escape the civil war which was tearing his home country apart.

He earned a degree in International Relations from Swansea University.
His case for alleged racial discrimination against Virgin, which was founded by flamboyant tycoon Richard Branson, is due to be heard by an employment tribunal in April.

A spokeswoman for Virgin Atlantic said: 'We are an equal opportunities employer.
'We pride ourselves on providing opportunities to talented people regardless of their race, sex, age or other characteristic.

'We take allegations of discrimination extremely seriously.

'And whilst we do not comment on individual cases, we strongly deny any of our recruitment decisions or practices are discriminatory in any way.'

Research done over the past few years have suggested that job applicants with foreign-sounding names face obstacles to being hired in many lines of work.

A number of studies in which researchers have submitted identical CVs under two sets of name, British and non-British, have shown that the former are significantly more likely to receive a positive response from employers.

I Will Act Nude For The Right Price - Mimi Quaker

Celebrities are often faced with the challenge of ensuring they keep their acts together as fans are quick to give meaning to everything they do.

photo
It is the same for Nollywood actress, Mimi Quaker whom many have concluded is a lesbian because she always keep girls as her Blackberry display pictures.

Mimi cleared the air on that in an interview with Vanguard saying the girls people see are the girls she arranges for people…she arranges girls for music videos.
“Most of the directors are my friends and they ask me to bring girls for music videos. So, I organise girls for their videos. All they do is ask me to bring girls with certain specifications and I search for girls with those specifications. Sometimes, I provide nothing less than five girls for a music video and what I do is to get paid from the girls’ payment.” Mimi says she takes up to 40 per cent.

Mimi’s girls have to suit the taste of her clients. She describes her kind of girls;
“The shape is the most important feature. The girl must be very curvy with nice skin colour, not necessarilylight-skinned and the height doesn’t matter. The type of girls to choose often depends on the director’s specifications. In some instances, the director may require a busty girl, big backside girl or even a slim-waist girl. Generally, a sexy curvy girl passes.”

Mimi was probed again about her sexuality and she said an emphatic no to the lesbian question. In fact, she says she’s in a relationship. She didn’t mention the man’s name and she talked as if he was an imaginary man, so-to-say.

When asked what attracted her to the man she claims to be dating, Mimi answered; “I guess the physique. I also like guys with a good set of teeth. He must also be handsome, tall, well-built and God-fearing.” Draw your inference, people.

Mimi who said she started acting in the easiest of ways said she can take up any role in acting; exposing private parts, sex scenes, etc., after all it’s make-believe.

“It was a bit easy for me. I met Chico Ejiro on Facebook and told him about my intention to go into acting. He invited me for an audition and that was how it all started for me,” she said on how she started acting.
Sex scenes, scenes with indecency? Bring them on! Mimi says; “It is only make-believe. You are not actually having sex but making it look like you are having sex.

“Well, if the money is good enough, I will take it. The whole idea is make-believe and getting the job done. It has nothing to do with my person,” Mimi says about showing private parts of her body on screen.
Still a student of Philosophy at the University of Lagos, Mimi Quaker prides herself in the success she’s achieved over the years. She appeared in six music videos in 2012 and was named as one of the top ten video vixens in 2012 by Linda Ikeji.

Mimi has worked with several artistes including KAN, Brymo, Rex, and Terry G.

In Nollywood, Mimi’s got herself role models like Mercy Johnson and Genevieve. “I used to like Rita Dominic but not anymore because she has not lived up to my expectation,” Mimi said.

I Am Not Dumping Music For Acting - Waje

Nigerian singer turned Nollywood actress, Waje speaks about her debuts in Nollywood with Tunnel, what inspired her to go into acting and how music will always be her first love.

photo
" The movie is entitled, tunnel. It is the first movie I will be featuring in . Tunnel is about a real life situation, the challenges we all face in our day to day life, most especially when we have to put our families together.

In all honesty, I feel every artist has a bit of acting in him. I make my fans feel my music by putting little emotion in my songs. I just wanted to see how far I could go with the talent God gave me.

It is not possible to dump music for acting. Waje is a brand, an entertainer. Music is my first love, I just want to unveil all my God given talents.

The truth is that I am an artist who believes that I am not just here for a decade. I will be there till I grow old.
I can diversify into other things but my first love will always be my first" love.
