According to PM reporter, Ayodeji Dedeigbo for allegedly being in possession of 100 pieces of master keys, the Nollywood actress was on Thursday sent to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos, southwest, Nigeria.

Miss Akilapa was on Wednesday detained at theAlade Divisional Police headquarters in Somolu, Lagos following a complaint lodged by a complainant, accusing the actress of stealing the 100 pieces of master keys found on her.

According to a statement written by her at the police headquarters, it was not the first time the suspect would be accused of stealing.

She said: "There was a day she came home to see my relative and when I opened her bag after she went to the toilet I found a phone that was later found to have been stolen. We seized the phone from her and returned it to the owner despite her denying that she stole the phone."

When the case came up at the Magistrate's Court in Somolu on Thursday, the police prosecutor, Inspector Anyanwu, told the court that Miss Akilapa was arrested by a mob that accused her of conspiracy and stealing of bunches of keys.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, is punishable under section 383, 516 and 517 criminal code of Lagos state.

In her response to the charge during the court session, the accused, who claimed to be trained by popular actor Abbey Lanre, said: "I have featured in about fivefilms including Aiyelaba.

" An Igbo man peeped from the door and said Mama Ayo was not living there. And as I was about going out, the mob pounced on me, searched my bags and found the hundred keys with the weaveon. They later handed me over to the policemen at Alade Divisional headquarters."

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Justice Mrs. E.A. Adekomaya, granted her bail in the sum of N14, 000 with two sureties who must own a landed property in Lagos, with evidence ofpaying tax to Lagos state government.

The case was adjourned till 12 March, 2013, while the defendant was moved to Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos pending when she could perfect her bail conditions.

Why Do Yoruba People Have Low Facebook Name Self Esteem - Kemi Olunloyo

"Why Do Yoruba People Have Low Facebook Name Self Esteem?" Ex Oyo State Governor's Daughter, Omololu Olunloyo Asks.

She has created a lot of buzz again because of her write up which you'll find below, and the Yorubas are yet to stop cursing her and calling her all sorts of names. She wrote;
Nigerians really irritate me on Facebook when they alter their names into these eyesore names. As a member of the Community standards team at Facebook, u are not allowed a fake name.

Many Nigerians in the Yoruba tribe where I am from, disgustingly alter the spellings of their names to horrible proportions. These beautiful African names are defaced due to lack of self esteem. I reported 10 last week on FB and they were told to produce ID before their pages could be re-opened.

They got mad at me. I clearly warned them beforehand. Even ppl with other fake nicknamesneed to be reported if you see them without a real name. I don't see this trend in other tribes in Nigeria. #SMH

Fela's Son, Seun Gives Out N20k To Waitress

It still baffles one's imagination that last born of the Afro beat originator, Fela Kuti popularly called Abami Eda, Seun is the only one who has well stepped into his late dad's shoes in everything. Women! Music and philanthropy.

In the area of women, Seun is said to have had chains of 'special friends' those who take care of him whenever he needs inspiration to perform.

Musically, he has, no doubt, inherited what his father left behind, the Egypt 80 Band. And when it comes to giving, Fela displayed this trait beautifully, this, of course might be the reason behind Seun giving N20,000:00, to a waitress to keep recently at a nightclub in Ikeja GRA. "Keep the change", he said.

Tonto Dikeh Is Not A Singer"--Toni Payne Hits Actress

Estranged wife of Gongo Aso crooner, Toni Payne has hit hard the controversial actress recently when she told friends that Tonto Dikeh is only fooling herself as a singer.

Toni, in her evaluation of Tonto as a musician said "It's actually funny, I would not want to lie, I heard one of her songs on radio once. You know what; I think the way people reacted to it seemed like bad.

There is a way you criticise people constructively, you don't have to make the person feel bad, I think a lot of people turned it into insults.

That's probably, because they don't like her. It was noteven as bad as they make it look like. But my score is that, obviously, she is not a singer. And I am sure she knows she is not a singer. May be she was just having fun. For that, I will give her like 25% over 100% for her effort.

There are some people that have dreams and they liketo fulfill their dreams, so she gets 25% for trying," the mother of one, Zion said.

Area Boys Battle Themselves Over Actor Largesse

A brief fight ensued at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State yesterday when some spectators who thronged the stadium to watch the novelty match between some Yoruba actors and some radio and television workers in Ogun State, engaged themselves in some argument over money thrown at them by some actors.

The match was played as part of the funeral rites of late veteran theatre arts practitioner, Pa Akin Ogungbe, who died some weeks ago.

Soon after the match between Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) and Radio and Television Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) ended, street urchins popularly called 'area boys' besieged Saheed Balogun, Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule and others for money.

When a sizeable amount of money was dished out to one of the area boys by an actor, he ran which resultedinto him being chased by others. A brief fight ensued when he was caught but it was later calmed when the guy agreed to part away with what he collected.

While this was going on, the actors sped off.

Taiwo Aromokun And Hubby Fight Each Other

Wedding day is a always a joyous day to both the manand the woman except in some rare cases where the parties involved have issues with each other.

In December 2012, Yoruba actress, Taiwo Aromokun secretly married her Holland-based lover simply known as Ogun Re by his friends.

The secret wedding, which was reported in some partsof the media to have been contracted in the UK, actually took place in Lagos at the Ikoyi Marriage Registry.

Sources informed us that at the venue of the secret union, Taiwo and her husband had a hot argument between them. The cause of the brawl, as multiple sources told us, started when Ogun Re got a hint that some journalists were around the marriage registry and possibly their to make a news out of their union.

This didn't go down well with Taiwo's 'abroad-based' lover as he was said to be bitterly angry with Taiwo and few of her friends at the wedding. He reportedly lambasted them all which then angered Taiwo, who stood in defence of her friends.
Realising that his hot argument could be made a newsmaterial for the poaching journalists, they quickly comported themselves and brought everything back to normal.

The wedding reception, we learnt, took place immediately in an eatery around the registry.

One of our sources confided in us that the fight was taken home as Ogun Re reportedly warned Taiwo never to try such with him again. The source said that though Taiwo was angry at that statement, she had to apologise to her hubby just to lay the matter to rest.

CIA Almost Disrupted My Movie - Niyi Towolawi

Almost every Nigerian filmmaker shooting a multi-cultural movie that requires flying-in foreign technical crew into the country has a story to tell.

Owing to the state of insecurity being witnessed in various parts of the country, it is a tough call trying to convince and guarantee the safety of lives and equipment.

These challenges and more are some of the issues that United Kingdom based Nigerian movie producer, Niyi Towolawi, had to confront while shooting his latest film titled "Turning Point."

Shot on location for five weeks in New York, Philadelphia and Delaware, all in the U.S., and Nigeria, between October and November 2011, Towolawi, who has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Manchester, and a Masters in Computer Science from Oxford University in the U.K. shared some of the hurdles he had to scale through.

He says, "When my crew members were trying to get their visas, they were advised not to come to Nigeria. The CIA has a very comprehensive website that talks about the risks in Nigeria which says they were 70 per cent more likely to be kidnapped and there are tons of diseases and threats. It took me two months to convince them (CIA) that Nigeria is a safe country. Luckily, one of them knew someone who came to shoot a commercial here in Nigeria and he was like it(Nigeria) is the best place he has ever been to and that kind of convinced them a bit. Besides the equipment that was brought into the country was worth $200,000 and they could not get insurance in the US to actually bring it into Nigeria and I could not get them in Nigeria as well. I had to convince them to bring them along."

Full of optimism with regards to the positive responses the movie will generate when it begins showing in Nigerian cinemas in a few weeks time, Towolawi's face lights up in a smile when he recollects the great time the cast and crew had while shooting in Nigeria.

"They ate Suya everyday and then I took them to Kuramo Beach were they ate Indomie noodles and fried eggs and took tons of pictures. Then we went to Obalende market and area boys came out in droves then the key grip (person who supervises all grip crews and reports to the Director of Photography) fromnew York, who shot videos for Biggie, Tupac and other artistes showed some of the videos to the area boys.

Surprisingly, one of them rapped to the songs. we had hundreds of area boys participating in the film without asking for payment. When we were leaving, they were all taking pictures," he said.

To Buy Even Pant Na War; If Government Does Not Come To Help Me Now, Then I Will Die Very SOon - NollyWood Actor

Seeing them on the big screen and on TV makes us believe they live considerably well, with the celebrity tag making us assume they have all they want, but alas, this is not Hollywood! Events of recent times have shown us these actors aren't as rich as they act in movies.

It gets worse for someone who acts poor in movies, most of them are actually poor. A look portraying poverty makes them ideal for the roles they play, so to say.

For Mr. Romanus Uchenna Amuta aka Natty, he acts poor in movies – he is actually poor. Acting has never really gotten him enough money to live comfortably. He has been down with stroke since 2006, and his financial incapability to get required treatment has worsened his case.

He cannot even afford good clothes or the good things of life, he says, adding that virtually all the property in his residence was acquired in the 1970s and changing them has become a mission impossible.

"Even the best clothes in my wardrobe were bought in1984 when I made some reasonable money working with Daily Times Newspaper as an Advert Representative in Enugu. Since then, to buy even pant na war," he stated.

Natty could not hold back tears in an interview with Punch as he lamented, "Will I be poor in New Masquerade and still be poor in real life, and even now that I'm about to die?"

"I'm … … so, so, so, so poor that I could not even cure the stroke when it was just starting. Now that it (the stroke) is even worse, there is no money to even enjoy myself, even if na small enjoyment before I quench like my mama wey die a long time ago."

Natty came into limelight starring as a true representation of the 'poverty class' of the Nigerian society in the New Masquerade series, which was airedon the Nigeria Television Authority for many years.

"I have reached out to my friends, but it appears they have abandoned me to die."
"For my people (his relatives), they have tried, but they can't kill themselves. My children have also done their best for me," he stated.

Despite several overtures to government officials and political appointees through notable personalities in Enugu State, Natty said he had been ignored.

"I believe that if government comes to help me my problems will be over. But the more they delay in coming, the more my body dies, and soon the entire Natty will just die and leave you people.

"If they (government) can send me to any of the best hospitals in the world, I will surely get better and bounce back to life."

Natty doesn't just want money; he wants the Enugu State Government to give also him land.

"They should give me land. I need a land and money from government. I need money; plenty money," he pleaded.

"I will invest in the land or sell it so that I can treat myself or at least take care of myself instead of this poverty."

"They should give me plenty money, enough to take me out of this country for treatment."

"If government does not come to help me now, then I will die very soon," Natty concluded.

Natty is married to Mrs. Cordelia Amuta, a primary school teacher and they have two male and four female children. They are all living in different places.

He hails from Udi Local Government Area in Enugu State and his children are all grown-ups. Poverty neverstopped Natty from being naughty; unknown to many,he has a 12-year-old son from another woman whose identity is not known.

One of the surviving members of the New Masquerade cast is Chief Chika Okpala, aka 'Zebrudaya'. Zebrudaya, who was the lead cast of the series, was approached for comments on Natty's state and he said, "It is really unfortunate that Nigerian actors havebeen left to die. I don't know why calamity has chosen to befall the film industry, especially the cast of the New Masquerade that is almost wiped out."

James Iroha (Giringory Akabuogu), Christy Essien-Igbokwe (Apena), and Claude Eke (Jegede Shokoya) are all dead, while Davis Offor (Clarus) is currently blind.

"If Natty dies without the government coming to his aid, it will be so bad. But I know that death is a necessary end that must come when it will and so we will not run away from death.

"We don't know how we came into this world and we don't know what we signed with God when we were coming.
"All we know is that we came into this world, we met each other and we propagated the show and the show worked. So anywhere God plucks one off, so be it.

"I will keep praying for Natty and we hope something good will come, and early, before it might become late."

I Am No Lesbian - Mimi Quaker

Nollywood actress, Mimi Quaker, who is believed to be a lesbian, has come out to clear the air on the allegation claiming that the girls she often displays on her BBM and other social media networks are the ones she arranges for people.

Hear her, "Most of the directors are my friends and they ask me to bring girls for music videos. So, I organise girls for their videos. All they do is ask me to bring girls with certain specifications and I search for girls with those specifications. Sometimes, I provide nothing less than five girls for a music video and what I do is to get paid from the girls' payment."

According to her, her models have to have some features required by her clients, "the shape is the most important feature. The girl must be very curvy with nice skin colour, not necessarily light-skinned and the height doesn't matter. The type of girls to choose often depends on the director's specifications. In some instances, the director may require a busty girl, big backside girl or even a slim-waist girl. Generally, a sexy curvy girl passes."

Mimi was probed again about her sexuality and she said an emphatic no to the lesbian question. In fact, she says she's in a relationship. She didn't mention the man's name and she talked as if he was an imaginary man, so-to-say.

When asked what attracted her to the man she claims to be dating, Mimi answered; "I guess the physique. I also like guys with a good set of teeth. He must also be handsome, tall, well-built and God-fearing."

Mimi who said she started acting in the easiest of ways said she can take up any role in acting; exposing private parts, sex scenes, etc., after all it's make-believe.

"It was a bit easy for me. I met Chico Ejiro on Facebook and told him about my intention to go into acting. He invited me for an audition and that was how it all started for me," she said on how she started acting.
