Mercy Johnson in Heart of a Widow
Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson is a delight to watch any day on screen. For her craft, and expression of professionalism, she went bald two years ago, while featuring in a movie,
" Heart of a Widow"shot in Enugu.
According to reports, Mercy was paid handsomelyto shave her hair. Mercy however did not disappoint the producers of the movie, Magic Movies Limited who did everything possible to get her on the set. While the movie was yet to hit the screens then, Mercy's fans were already visiting the shelves and cinema centres to see the movie.
Not only has she re-defined what it means to be awidow through the movie, she proved to be one of those A-list actresses who aren't afraid to display professionalism in any movie role given to them. Naturally, while she was on set, she looked pale, dejected and abused. Yet, it was a make-believe world.
Uche Jombo in Holding Hope
Uche Jombo lost so much weight when she went bald in Holding Hope, a movie she produced with Emem Isong last year. She played the role of a cancer ill mother. And for her to be able to fit intothis role, the actress went on a diet, lost so much weight that tongues started wagging on whether she aborted a six month old pregnancy. Then, Uche was a shadow of her old self, as she was made to shave off all her hair to look the role, looking miserable and dejected. It however, took her some months to regain her weight as well as silence her critics.
Nuella Njubigbo
Actress Nuella Njubigbo last year released pictures of her new look online. In the pictures, Nuella was relieved of her lush hair, a requirement for the lead role she played in a movie.
It was gathered then that she was paid handsomely for the role. Her bravery in shaving off her hair for a movie role pitched her with notable Nollywood actresses who have done that at one time or the other. Still in her early days in the industry, Nuella is one of the fastest rising actresses in Nollywood.
Her fans are of the opinion that Nuella ought to have gotten an enviable attention given the new flick, but unfortunately, the movie is yet to hit thebig screen.
Nonetheless, Nuella continues to impress her fans all over the world with her unconstrained style of acting and versatility that has endeared her to the hearts of many movie lovers.
Oge Okoye
Ordinarily, sexy actress, Oge Okoye wouldn't agree to subject herself to torture or shave off her hair for any price. But as a thespian, she is, she did it two years ago, when she dared to go bald in movie role which required the bald effect to portray the character of a widow.
It was however rumoured then that the offer was too good for the actress to refuse. And like Mercy Johnson and Stella Damasus, she displayed her craft, and shocked her fans when she shaved off her hair to star in the movie. Unfortunately, not many people have seen the movie but those who were privileged to see it said it made a big splash when it was released in 2011.
Adaora Ukoh in 'Thy Kingdom Come'
Top actress Adaora Ukoh is still living with the reality of having to shave off her hair in a movie titled "Thy Kingdom Come".
Adaora who starred alongside Sam Dede, Mike Ezuruonye, Kenneth Okokwo, and other actors was bald in almost half of the movie. She played the role of a woman who became a widow and was made to shave her hair as demanded by tradition.
Squealers said, Adaora was paid N2 million to play the role.
Interesting, the actress who still carries low cut till date exudes beauty. Some of her fans confess how much they love her bald look.

Chris Brown In A Fatal Accident
Earlier today, Breezy was on his way to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy to attend an event for his Symphonic Love charity when he was involved in a car accident while trying to flee the paparazzi. The good news is that he is okay. The bad news is that he totaled his Porsche.
According to a statement from his reps :
Chris Brown was in a car accident this afternoon after being ruthlessly pursued by paparazzi. He was in his vehicle by himself headed to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a Symphonic Love Foundation event when two vehicles cut him off.
The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, hebegan to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris' vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.
This guy can not get a break. Sheesh!
At least he's okay.
Justin Bieber Ruins Black History Month
During his opening monologue, the host and musicalguest noted that February is home to both Valentine's Day and Black History Month, so he would celebrate both. With help from Kenan Thompson , the singer approached young women inthe audience, presented them with a rose, and smooth talked them with some black history facts. He started off well—but soon got his history mixed up.
"Girl you're driving me crazy, but did you also know Denzel Washington invented peanut butter?" he asked one young woman. Finally, surprise guest Whoopi Goldberg appeared and Bieber serenaded her with "One Less Lonely Girl."
Later, Bieber plays the ultimate Miley Cyrus ( Vanessa Bayer ) fan, appearing on her talk show and proclaiming his disdain for Justin Bieber. Bieber's character obliquely addresses photos that emerged in January of the singer smoking marijuana: "I also heard he got busted smoking weed, and people make mistakes and he's really sorry about it and he's never going to do it again."
SNL kicked off the episode by revisiting Sunday's Super Bowl blackout, which left the CBS Sports teamwith little to do but rehash old facts for thirty minutes. A more detailed description of what went down can be read here , but sufficed to say, there's awkward talk of Dan Marino 's (Jason Sudeikis ) recently revealed extramarital affair and Shannon Sharpe 's ( Jay Pharoah ) desire to eat a punter.
Speaking of the Super Bowl, Thompson appeared on Weekend Update as "the one black guy in every commercial." You know him—the "cool but non threatening" guy who is forever banging out a rhythm Pringles cans, DJing parties and high-fiving people—all in the name of adding diversity to an ad campaign. Thompson's character tells Seth Meyers his life is awesome, because he is constantly hanging out with "Hispanic girls with bangs" and white guys who wear fedoras when they dance.
Bieber affected a greeser accent for a sketch derivedfrom Greece 's "Tell Me More" (renamed "Say More Stuff" in SNL parlance). Bieber's character isn't too smart, as it's revealed he was disappointed on his date when he discovered "sweater puppies" weren't literally puppies hidden in a woman's sweater.
The pop star nearly cracked up ala vintage Jimmy Fallon while playing a respectable pre-medical student who goes home to meet his girlfriend's ( Nasim Pedrad ) family. Her oafish older brother ( Taran Killam ) screams in his face, just about causing Bieber to break.
Later, Bieber got to a play nerd who, along with his girlfriend (Pedrad), plan an abstinence-themed school dance.
SNL is new next week with host Christoph Waltz and musical guest Alabama Shakes.

My Wife Takes Me Serious - Gbenga Adeyinka
He says, "Some of us who are pot-bellied and 'old' don't have the pleasure of being chased by women anymore. We have left it for the younger ones. Women don't chase me anymore; they know this big belly wouldn't let me run."
Although some say women don't take comedians seriously, the dark skinned performer says that his wife takes him serious.
Adeyinka says, "I don't know if women don't take comedians serious but my wife takes me serious, especially when I want to pay school fees."
With the younger crop of comedians doing well for themselves and often laughing to the bank, Adeyinka, fondly referred as the 'Comedian of the Federal Republic,' says that he does not feel threatened.
"There is no competition. I do not feel threatened by the younger ones. Who is there to threaten me? I still work about four times a week. I am not threatened by anybody. If anything, I am grooming younger ones so that I can relax and do more expensive and fewer jobs,"he says.
The CFR says it is only a fool that will not pray for the growth of the younger generation.
He continues, "I think it is a stupid old person that would be envious of the young ones making it because before we made it, some people were making it. I do not believe that the younger ones are doing better than the older ones. I know that I am still doing as well as anyone in the industry, but our prayer is for the younger ones to grow. If we pray to grow and the industry dies, in 30 years time, nobody will remember our names. It is good as the young ones are growing but then the growth of the young ones does not kill the older ones. The older ones like myself are consolidated. We are doing bigger things that will even help the younger ones."
GoodLuck Jonathan Suffers Intestinal Problem
The Nigeria president, who is on a whirlwind three-nation trip to Egypt, the United Kingdom and France, had planned to surprise the Super Eagles in South Africa following their qualification for the final of the African Cup of Nations last Wednesday.
However, in London Mr. Jonathan came down with an intestinal disorder referred to as Amoebic Colitis and he underwent testing at the London Clinic on Harley Street. The clinic is highly favoured by Nigeria's rich and powerful.
A medical source told Saharareporters that Mr. Jonathan's situation is not worrisome but that the persistent nature of the condition meant the president had to undergo some screenings. It was not clear why he did not undertake the screenings in Abuja, where State House has an excellent clinic manned by a largely idle staff.
Meanwhile, former Nigerian dictator Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was also sighted at the InterContinental Hotel in London limping on one leg. Mr. Babangida was helped into a vehicle by two aideson his way to a hospital in the city.
It was not clear if President Jonathan previously knewof Babangida's stay at the same hotel but the two met briefly as Babangida struggled to get to his car.
Mr. Jonathan is expected to arrive in France on Monday, according to his itinerary, but it is unclear if his health issue will force a change. Mr. Jonathan's wife, Patience, last month returned to hospital in Germany following new health concerns.

Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’s Music Producer Sues Record Distributors Over Copyright Infringement
Late Fuji icon, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister may have been dead but his evergreen music lives on as his record distributor, Alhaji Lati Alagbada and his old friend, Alhaji Buhari Oloto has been dragged to court by a London based record company, known as Otolowo Records over issues of copyright infringement .
The Otolowo Records, who produced the last album of late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister titled " Last Message "is suing both Alhaji Alabada and Alhaji Oloto for distributing the record, which, according to the recording company have no copyright-backing for so doing. The London based Record Label claimed that they have the exclusive right to sell not all the records of the late Fuji icon but his last album which was produced by them as well.
As part of the copyright infringement, they are asking for N50 million as compensation.
The case was opened for hearing last Thursday, before Justice Oyebanji of the Lagos High Court,Igbosere. While Otolowo and its representativesare the plaintiff, Alhaji Lati Alagbada and Alhaji Buhari Oloto, the Olori Omo Oba of Onitire Royalfamily are the defendants.

Joe Ighile Of Channels TV Is Dead
According to a source, while the now late Joe was presenting last night, he just wasn't getting his line right. Channel TV immediately went off the air during which he was rushed to the hospital.
He died briefly at the hospital.
