Bruno Mars Unveils Massive 'Moonshine Jungle' World Tour

The singer will hit the road this summer to promote his newest album, "Unorthodox Jukebox."

Pop-rock star Bruno Mars will head out on his most expansive headlining tour to date with a five-month-long arena trek dubbed Moonshine Jungle World Tour. The tour, which supports Mars' sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox , kicks off on June 22 in Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday, Mars stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to announce the world tour, as well as the cities in North America that he'd be visiting. On Wednesday (Feb. 20), he revealed the dates in full, as well as an official teaser video for the international run:
Ellie Goulding and Fitz & the Tantrums will each support Mars on select dates of the tour. Tickets to most shows, including all European dates, go on sale on March 1.

Mars' tour announcement follows news of Unorthodox Jukebox making a 112 percent leap in sales on the Billboard 200 this week, following his performance on the Grammy Awards alongside Sting , Rihanna , Ziggy Marley and Damien Marley . The album, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 upon its December release, flies 8-3 on this week's chart.

Meanwhile, Mars is enjoying a run of having two singles in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 chart. After spending six weeks at No. 1, "Locked Out of Heaven"remained at No. 2 on last week's tally, while "When IWas Your Man" leapt from 22-9.

Oprah Winfrey's OWN Acquires Tyler Perry's TBS Comedy 'For Better or Worse'

The cable network will expand its scripted fare repeats and a new third season of the comedy.
OWN is expanding its relationship with Tyler Perry.

In addition to inking the multihyphenate to an overall deal and green lighting a scripted comedy and drama, the cable network has acquired Perry's For Better or Worse from TBS.

In addition to acquiring the first 45 episodes of the scripted comedy that originally aired on TBS, OWN will produce a third season of the series -- which ranked as basic cable's top show on TV among African-Americans.

The original cast -- Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Crystle Stewart, Kent Faulcon, Kiki Haynes and Jason Olive -- will all return and begin production on season three in April in Atlanta.

" For Better or Worse is a great addition to our growing lineup of scripted programming from Tyler,"OWN president Erik Logan said. "We're excited to build out OWN's slate of original shows."

For Better or Worse join Perry's two other scripted efforts at the network.

The Haves and the Have Nots is a drama about the dynamics of the affluent Cyrer family and the impoverished family of their housekeeper, Hanna, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both.

Love Thy Neighbor , meanwhile, is a multi camera comedy set at Love's Diner, where every day the menu serves up good food, great laughs, valuable life lessons and a lot of love for its zany neighbors.

OWN inked Perry -- the prolific writer, director, producer and actor behind the Madea features, among several other stage and small-screen projects -- to a multiyear pact in October to produce original content for the cabler.

Before the deal, Perry's TV efforts were housed at Turner-owned TBS, where the network launched half-hours Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Meet the Browns .

For Better or Worse for its part hasn't been the ratings performer TBS had hoped it would be, after both House of Payne and Browns triggered 90-episode renewals as part of their 90/10 package at the cable network.

Study Shows Black Men In Their 20s Or Early 30s Are More Likely To Be In Prison Than Have A Job

Among African-Americans who have grown up during the era of mass incarceration, one in four has had a parent locked up at some point during childhood. For black men in their 20s and early 30s without a high school diploma, the incarceration rate is so high — nearly 40 percent nationwide — that they're more likely to be behind bars than to have a job.

No one denies that some people belong in prison. Mr. Harris, now 47, and his wife, 45, agree that in his early 20s he deserved to be there. But they don't see what good was accomplished by keeping him there for two decades, and neither do most of the researchers who have been analyzing the prison boom.

The number of Americans in state and federal prisons has quintupled since 1980, and a major reason is that prisoners serve longer terms than before. They remain inmates into middle age and old age, well beyond the peak age for crime, which is in the late teenage years — just when Mr. Harris first got into trouble.

Collateral Costs details the concentration of incarceration among men, the young, the uneducated and African Americans. One in 87 working-aged white men is in prison or jail compared with 1 in 36 Hispanic men and 1 in 12 African American men. Today, more African American men aged 20 to 34 without a high school diploma or GED are behind bars (37 percent) than are employed (26 percent).

The report also shows more than 2.7 million minor children now have a parent behind bars, or 1 in every 28. For African American children the number is 1 in 9, a rate that has more than quadrupled in the past 25 years.

KFC Employee Fired After Photo Of Her Licking Mashed Potatoes At Work Went Viral

If you were perusing social media this weekend, you may have seen the image of an employee at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on North Roan Street holding a plate of mashed potatoes close to her face,as if she was going to lick them.

A company spokesman on Monday said customers did not receive those potatoes. This photo got serious traction on social media by Friday, prompting many, many comments from people condemning and defending the woman in the picture. The implication was that these potatoes were served to customers.

The Johnson City Press went to the KFC in question to ask for a comment and was referred to a corporate marketing office. KFC spokesman Rick Maynard responded to a call from the Press via emailand said this food was not served.

"Nothing is more important to KFC than food safety," Maynard wrote in his email. "As soon as our franchisee became aware of the issue, immediate action was taken. The franchisee's investigation confirmed the photos were taken after the restaurant was closed and none of the food was served. The employee involved was immediately terminated."

Maynard went on to say that KFC Corporation sent operations and quality assurance teams to the NorthRoan Street restaurant to "reinforce and retrain on KFC's high operating standards."

That's not even a "plate" of mashed potatoes, that's the bulk portion that they actually serve to the customers. Nasty azzz…

The teenage son of late pop star Michael Jackson has signed up to be a correspondent for the Entertainment Tonight television show, following in the footsteps of his show business family.

Prince Jackson, 16, was to debut on Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (local time), interviewing actors James Franco, Zach Braff and director Sam Raimi as they promote their upcoming film Oz the Great and Powerful, the program said.

Prince, who was born Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., is the oldest of Michael Jackson's three children.

Jackson told the syndicated tabloid news show that he wants to eventually get into the film business.

''I'm looking to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor,'' he said.

Facts have begun to emerge regarding the real story behind Wizkid and Banky is fallout. The reason is not unconnected with the rising sensational singer being made a cash cow for the EME label. An Insider opened up to Entertainment Rendezvous that Wizzy (his nickname) is at war with Banky W and EME because he wants a contract review which Banky W has refused to grant him.

The source pointed out that since Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid signed with EME, he has been getting just 25% from whatever he gets paid to perform at an event with Banky W. Empire Mate Entertainment EME is owned by Banky W and Segun Demuren and Segun and Osagie, Wizzy’s ex-manager who introduced him to Banky after big record labels like Mo-Hits and Storm records rejected him, also gets 25% each from his hard earned money.

“It is true they are having problems and this might just be the end of EME and Wizkid. When Wizzy signed a 2-year contract with EME late in 2009, he saw Banky as his messiah because he was nobody in the music industry. It was a 50-50 sharing formula.

Then Wizkid didn’t mind because he was bent on building his musical career. In his contract, Banky W promised to take care of his accommodation, feeding and also his school and based on this fact, Wizkid accepted all the terms of agreement. Later, Wizzy sacked his manager, Osagie replacing her with Godwin because he felt she was getting too much. Wizkid was getting just 25% from every show because Banky W would take 50% while Osagie was taking 25%.

Wizzy sacked Osagie because she was not ready to receive 10% which other management companies were taking from artistes. This development obviously did not go down well with Banky W but because Wizzy was close to the end of his contract with EME, Banky gave in. When Wizkid’s contract expired late last year, he wanted a contract review requesting the 50-50 sharing formula to be reviewed to 70-30 but Banky would not accept his proposal.

This issue had been dragging since September 2012 and that could have explained why Wizkid moved out of Banky’s Ogudu GRA residence and got a new apartment in Lekki. What got Wizzy miffed was that he was making all the money for EME and was getting less. Also, the money being made was being used to finance the project of other EME stars namely, Niyola, Skales and Shaydee.”

Apparently Wizkid’s international fame gave him more confidence to stand out on his own. Riding on this platform, he signed a management deal with Disturbing London, an international management company. Right now, his second Album is ready and it is with Banky W. Wizzy is bent on leaving if they don’t agree with his terms and float his own label STARBOI Records.

Banky W may not have given their side of the story but insiders noted that Banky has spent a lot to make Wizkid who he is now. He feels Wizkid is not grateful and has forgotten where he was coming from.

RMD Involved In N50Million Fraud

Philo Nkem Ajufo, the acting General Manager of Delta State Tourism Board, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja over her role in a financial scheme. Ms. Ajufo is reportedly being quizzed for conniving with her boss, Richard Mofe Damijo, RMD, to embezzle N50 million from the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Mr. Mofe Damijo, a well known Nollywood star, is the commissioner in charge of the ministry. Our EFCC said the commissioner was also being sought by the anti-corruption agency, but he has been elusive.

An EFCC source confirmed Ms. Ajufo’s arrest. “As we talk, the Delta State Tourism GM, one Mrs. Nkem Ajufo, is been held in our headquarters here in Abuja over her involvement in the N50 million fraud. Her boss, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, is not left out but as we speak he is still avoiding us,” said the source.

Two sources at the ministry told our reporter that the EFCC last week delivered a letter inviting Ms. Ajufo to appear at their headquarters. She was reportedly asked to bring along relevant documents concerning the N50 million that was meant for the purported 2007 Delta Expo event which never held.

The sources disclosed that Mr. Mofe Damijo went underground on learning about the current development.
One source told our reporter that the commissioner, who is reported to be building himself a massive underground edifice in Lagos, was trying to use political contacts in Delta and Abuja to scuttle the EFCC’s investigation and washed his hands off the scam.

SaharaReporters learnt that Mr. Mofe Damijo denied knowledge of the money during the budget defense exercise.

Several calls and sms texts sent to Mr. Damijo and Ms. Ajufo’s mobile lines were not answered. After a while, the commissioner switched off his mobile phone.

Late last year, Saharareporters had broken the news of the N50 million allegedly embezzled by the commissioner and the acting GM of the state’s tourism board.

Several sources in the commissioner’s office had confided that a former commissioner in the Ministry had applied for the N50 million to organize the “Delta State Expo 2007,” disclosing that the state could not release the funds then due to some financial challenges.

However, when the funds were released into the Tourism account in May, 2012, Mr. Mofe Damijo allegedly said that the ministry could no longer carry out the event since it had elapsed by six years and Deltans would have forgotten about the event.

But our reporter obtained “Forms of Advance Warrant” on release of funds from the Ministry of Finance indicating that the N50 million was supposed to be spent on the original event for which it was approved.
The warrant order, numbered 00000117, 00000114 and 00000115, was signed by one Ms. P.O. Evuojapha for the Commissioner of Finance.

SaharaReporters learnt that N35 million of the N50 million was supposed to have gone to the tourism board.
A reporter for SaharaReporters learned that Mr. Mofe Damijo issued a check to the tourism board in the name of its acting GM, Ms. Ajufo. She in turn reportedly deposited the sum into her First Bank private account with account number (3006131619) operated under her name, Nkem Philo Ajufo. Our sources said she and Mr. Mofe Damijo subsequently shared the money.

Autopsy Report Of Goldie Reveals Cause Behind Her Death

The death certificate of late Nigerian singer and Kennis Music artiste, Susan ‘Goldie’ Harvey, has been made public. The songstress, according to an autopsy carried out on her remains, died of hypertension.

The autopsy was carried out at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, by Dr O O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine.

It was stated that Goldie suffered ‘intracerebellar hemorrhage’ which was caused by an underlying Hypertensive Heart Disease. This resulted to her spinal cord being affected bringing about a severe headache, which she reportedly complained of shortly before her death.

Meanwhile, burial arrangements of Goldie will soon be announced by the family. Goldie died on February 14, 2013. Her death has witnessed various rumour on its cause.

Thus the question every sane Nigerian should be asking is when will this madness of undeserved honour stop?

The death of the musician from Ekiti, Goldie Harvey, and the attempt to make it seem like we lost an icon isanother and perhaps the worst of all these madness. I do not believe that death, which we will all face, should make you a hero except you died an honourable death. When people just drop dead we grieve and console the family not tell blatant lies as to who they were. This is why the statement of the Ekiti State Governor is worrisome. Mr. Kayode Fayemi is reported to have described Goldie as a "great daughter of Ekiti State" and one has to wonder upon what was this greatness achieved? Are people now great for singing meaningless songs with promiscuoussuggestions or for taking and publishing suggestive photos of themselves?

Since when did we consider it greatness to appeal to the sexual cravings of perverts and run after men on camera in the name of a reality show that is far from reality? Since when did it become great achievement that a lady is even thought of as being a junkie in her life time? How can this be great?

In the past fathers will tell their children "don't bring shame to this family" but nowadays shame and shamelessness is celebrated with such noise that you think the Devil himself is in charge of people's life and even he has gone crazy.

Ironically, around the same period this unfortunate death occurred Governor Theodora Orji of Abia State was commending Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper for winning the Purity Queen title for a lady who kept her virginity until her marriage; surprisingly some Nigerians criticized the Governor and even 'accused' him of giving her a car whereas Governor Kayode Fayemi waspraised for describing Goldie as a "bright star" among other accolades including that she lived a "fulfilled life". Indeed the world is upside down.

The problem with giving honour to people who did dishonourable acts is that people will definitely emulate them. The Dolly Parton's of this world made ita fashion for women to expose their cleavage; years onwomen have lost their husbands to such exposure andhomes have collapsed; the Dr. Dre's of this world made being "gangster" a fashionable thing and years later the gangsters are increasing and we even have a gangster in the White House killing innocent people with Drones…. Martin Luther's dreams became a Nightmare. And this list goes on and on; for every irresponsible person you honour you make irresponsibility the "swag", the same way for every man who dies for his mother you honour you make standing up against oppression and protecting the weak the in-thing…. make your choice.

Lastly, we must clarify two issues. The first one is with regards to speaking "evil" about the dead while the second one is the "who are you to judge" comedy.

Firstly, the dead has already met what he or she put forward hence there is no need to speak of its evil. What there is need to do however is to either call the living to an example to live by if the dead is worthy of emulation or to warn the living to stay away from a wasteful lifestyle like that of the dead who lived life as if death was never going to come and this is the real lesson here; life is short, if you live it like Goldie your death may come and meet you in that state; what will you tell your Creator? We cannot pretend this is not the lesson here; it will be one lie too many
Secondly, they ask us not to Judge and we say to themsince we are in the spirit of not judging kindly don't judge the location of your mouth so that you put your food in your nose. We say to them that in this spirit of not judging please cross the road without judging thata vehicle is close enough to knock you down; maybe when you are in the air you will realise your stupidity.

We do not judge a person who has faith that he or she will be in the hellfire, we do not Judge that the person's bad is more than his/her good, we do not Judge if God will forgive a believer…..but we judge thatfornication and the promotion of it is EVIL, and that the one who represented evil dead does not make evil good.

Some others will say an adult can do what he or she likes and you don't have to force your life on others. The question we have for this set of confused mentallycolonized perverts is that this same justification is given to homosexuality and it will soon be given to incest so that if a grown up man and his grown up daughter say they fell in love and want to marry your kind will say well it's their life, it does not affect me…. can you see now that you are sick?

Conclusively, the lessons from this unfortunate incident can be summarized as thus;

1) Death can come at any time; be prepared to meet your Lord.

2) Fame and fortunes are but illusions, what matters isyour relationship with your Creator.

3) The enjoyment of this world is fleeting; don't let it deceive you.

4) Live a good life; one that does not involve promoting lewdness or any type of evil; death and Judgment is real and it is no respecter of status.

5) It was the honour given her musical mentors that led the lady to not just music but a meaningless form upon which her life ended so let's ensure that we do not turn scum into icons because people will sure emulate them.

Justus Esiri Dead And Gone!!!

Just less than a week after the sudden death of two top Nollywood actor namely Lugard Onoyemu and Collins Ifeanyi Chukwu who died in Surulere Lagos and Abuja respectively, Nollywood movie industry has been hit with another sudden death and it's veteran actor Justus Esiri .

Nigerian actor Justus Esiri is dead . He passed way on Monday night after a short-time battle with an undisclosed ailment in his hometown.

Few months ago, Nigerian singer and Mavin record member, Dr Sid introduced Justus Esiri as his father .

Dr Sid's real name is Onoriode Esiri, he is the youngest child of the deceased.

As at the time of this report, no detail has been released regarding Justus Esiri's death but it is a shock to everybody as the family only released this few hours ago.

Our source said the now late Justus Esiri has been secretly battling an age related illness for a while but his family chose to make it a secret until his sudden demise last night at the age of 71.

Last year over four top Nollywood stars including Pete Eneh and Enebeli Elebuwa died suddenly.

Pete Eneh died of untreated leg infection on November15, 2012 at a private hospital in Enugu while Enebeli Elebuwa died of stroke on the 4th of December 2012 at a private hospital in New Delhi, India.

Just this last week two Nollywood actor died tragically.

A source who claimed the angel of death has visited Nollywood might be proven true with the sudden demise of top Nigerian movie stars one after the other within the past 12 months.

Before his death, he was a member of the Order of Niger (MON). He came into limelight in the early 80′s through the popular Village Headmaster TV series.

He has also featured in many interesting Nollywood movies.

A Little about Late Justus Esiri: He was born in November 1942 in Oria, Abraka, Delta State.

His studied at Catholic Secondary school in Warri in year 1948 before proceeding to Maximillan University in Munich, German in 1964. He also attended Prof. Weners Institute of Engineering, West Berlin, 1967 and the Ahrens School of Performing Arts in 1968.

Justus Esiri, detoured into motion picture production in 1968 as a staff of the Schiller Theater, Berlin, Germany, where he stayed till 1976. During the 1977 FESTAC held in Lagos, he choreographed the Modern Dress exhibition. From then onwards, the sky was indeed not the limit for Esiri. He was Production Manager for Dinner With The Devil. He worked as News translator and Newscaster with the Voice of Nigeria (German Service).

From the moment Ice Prince featured in Yvonne Nelson's new movie "House Of Gold", love at first sight drama has kicked in.

According to sources, Yvonne Nelson is madly in love with the handsome aboki rapper and the lovers are set to rekindle their romance fire.

Ice Prince and Yvonne Nelson were spotted in Lekki Lagos on the 16th of February, 2013 at a birthday party. We learnt Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh and former BBA star Karen Igho were also at the surprise birthday party.
