Nigeria's Most Wanted Fraudster Arrested By The FBI

He owned a hip hop record label and he lived the high life of luxury hotels, gambling, strippers andbling. But behind the glitz and the glamour Tobechi Enyinna Onwuhara was one of the FBI's most wanted men, allegedly a fraudster who scammed at least $44 million through cyber crimes.

But the sophisticated con artist, who fled Florida in August 2008 amid an intense FBI investigation, has been caught in Sydney and sent back to the US to face a string of fraud charges.

Nigerian-born Tobechi Onwuhara, 33, was "provisionally arrested in response to a request from the United States Government" in December last year, according to a spokeswoman for the Australian Attorney-General's department.

A spokeswoman for the AG's department said Mr Onwuhara is to face prosecution in the US for fraud related offences, including identity fraud and computer fraud.

"On January 29, the Minister for Justice [Jason Clare] made a determination to surrender Mr Onwuhara to the US.

"As a matter of long standing practice, the Australian government does not comment on operational matters," she said.

Fairfax Media understands Mr Onwuhara had been living it up in Sydney after disappearing in August 2008.

The FBI's website now lists Mr Onwuhara as captured, but with scant detail of the arrest.

They were offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The source who tipped off Fairfax said Mr Onwuhara had been making regular trips to The Star casino as well as splashing cash at numerous popular nightclubs.

"He would bet at the Star under a different name, he was a regular, then one day he just disappeared and someone told us he wanted by the FBI," a source said.

A spokeswoman for Echo entertainment, owner of The Star, did not return calls and emails. The US Consulate in Sydney also did not return calls.

An Australian Federal Police spokesman confirmed the AFP arrested Mr Onwuhara.
According to the FBI's most wanted list. Mr Onwuhara is wanted for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scheme that defrauded the financial industry out of tens of millions of dollars.

"Onwuhara is a key member of a group of Nigerians who allegedly have been conducting fraudulent banking activities from Florida and Texas, since 2005," the FBI's most wanted website states.

"It is alleged that the group has been using online internet databases to steal victims' identities.

"Once acquired, they allegedly use the victims' information to gain access to the victims' 'Home Equity Line of Credit' accounts and wire transfer the money to accounts mainly located overseas, some in the United States."

Some of Onwuhara's alleged co-conspirators have been arrested, inside and outside of the United States, the FBI's website states.

Onwuhara was charged federally with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest by the US District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, on August 1, 2008.

Did Gucci Mane Have Sex With Selena Gomez???

Selena Gomez is currently traveling all over Europe showing off a number of sexy outfits while promoting her hot new movie, Spring Breakers, and a sensational new report says that Selena had a pretty sexy time filming the movie too! While filming in mid 2012, Selena and rapper Gucci Mane allegedly got close and used to spend hours in her trailer alone, and Gucci did NOT care that Selena was dating Justin Bieber. Did Selena cheat on Justin?

A production assistant from the set of Spring Breakers says that Selena, 20, and Gucci, 33, got very friendly while filming the movie.

Selena plays college student Faith, while Gucci plays Archie, some sort of drug lord/criminal/thug.

The insider claims that Gucci spent hours inside Selena's trailer, sometimes with her and her co -stars Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and Vanessa Hudgens, and other times just the two of them ALONE.

"We thought it was [odd] that she was in there with [Gucci]. One time [producers] sent security to make sure she was OK." The insider added, "It almost became a joke, [another employee] said [to Gucci] 'Watch out or I'm telling Justin [Bieber].' [Gucci] was like 'F*ck that lil n***a."

Gucci has an ice cream cone tattoo on his face and has previously been charged for murder (the charges were later dropped), so he doesn't exactly seem like Selena's type…

Baby faced Justin is much more up her alley.

We're having a hard time believing this one.

Selena can't go from lesbian white boy singer to tatted up felon rapper. Or can she? Maybe she wants to try something new? JB already proved he liked some chocolate with his milk .

I Don't Want Celebrity Friends!!!! - Denzel Washington

Some actors make a point of hob-nobbing with famous and high-profile folks in the industry and getting their picture in the tabloids as often as possible. Then there's Denzel Washington. In an interview with Xan Brooks published on The Guardian.co.uk, Washington announced, "Actually, even within the industry, I don't have any actor friends. My friends are old friends. One's an ex-music guy, the other's a restaurant owner and the other's an ex-pro ballplayer."

When asked why he didn't have many friends among his colleagues, Washington snapped, "Because I don't make friends! Maybe I'm not a butt-kisser, maybe I'm not a schmoozer. I'm not about to go to a party to try to get a job. And then when you have children, the other friends become other parents. We'd coach baseball or basketball.
My wife and I were raised right. I don't want movie-star friends. And being African American, there were no big movie stars to hang out with anyway, not when I was starting out, they were just the third guy from the back! For whatever reason, I never befriended any white actors."

(One of Washington's public relations representatives later offer a clarification on the Guardian story, "I sat in on this interview," the rep said. "The part they failed to mention was after he said 'never befriended any white actors' he mentioned 'except,' and then listed Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts, etc. They cut the rest of the thought out. The rest is fine though.") As the interview went on, Washington's seem to clarify thathis attitude had less to do with his opinions of his fellow thespians and more with the current culture of celebrity in America. "I'm a working actor!" he declared. "What's a celebrity anyway? Paris Hilton's a celebrity. I'm just a working actor."

While Washington didn't go into deep detail about his private life in the interview, the well-grounded and publicity-shy actor alluded to his religious scruples and the role they play in his life and his work. When asked about his character's plea for helpfrom God in "Flight," Washington replied, "That line,'God help me,' was very important to me. As an arc as much as anything. You see this butt-naked, coke-sniffing, weed-smoking guy finally get to the point where he can say: 'God help me.' He gets his life back."

Love it, way to keep it all the way 100, Denzel!!!!

What Is Wrong With This Picture???

A North Dakota high school principal says appropriate action is being taken after three students briefly donned Ku Klux Klan-style white robes and hoods Friday night during a state hockey semifinal game.

The photo caused an uproar on Twitter when it was posted by 19-year-old Shane Schuster, who was seated with some friends at Ralph Engelstad Arena when something in the student section across the rink caught his eye.

"I thought, `Are those white supremacist hoods?' I couldn't believe it," Schuster said. "I was shocked."

Schuster said he focused his camera phone and snapped a photo, later uploading it to Twitter.

Kristopher Arason, Red River's principal, said the school's investigation determined that the students put on the attire just after Red River's first goal and wore it for about 30 seconds to a minute. The teens removed the outfits after students in the section told them it was offensive, he said.

"We, as a school, are extremely disappointed with the behavior of these three students," Arason said ina statement sent to The Associated Press on Saturday. "This behavior is not a representation of our school or student body."

Arason said administrators were notified of the incident at the completion of the game. The students and their parents have been contacted and"appropriate action is being taken," he said.

Arason did not indicate what disciplinary action, if any, the three unidentified students could face.

Red River topped Fargo's Davies High School 2-0 to advance to Saturday night's North Dakota Boys State Hockey Tournament title game against Grafton-Park River.

Davies High School is named in honor of Ronald Davies, the former federal judge from Fargo whose 1957 rulings integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Ark. – a pivotal event in the civil rights movement.

The photo that Schuster posted on the social media site shows the three hooded fans in the middle of the Red River Roughriders section, in which everyone is dressed in white as part of a "whiteout." The post had been retweeted 75 times by late Saturday afternoon, with many users expressing their outrage.

South African Teens Opting To Get Plastic Surgery To Create “Smaller Breasts And Smaller Butts”

When it comes to plastic surgery it appears that for young black South Africans, less is more. Nip-and-tuck procedures, breast reductions and even lip reductions are on the increase among young, affluent black South Africans. Dr Leon Dumas said the procedures being done on young black people were contrary to the perceptions about what patients wanted. "Normally there is a perception that everyone wants breast implants, but what we are seeing with our young, black patients is that reduction is the major trend. It's no longer seen as acceptable to have big breasts or a big body."

Dumas said a lot of black people now had access to a disposable income and no longer saw cosmetic surgery as taboo. "As young black people become more affluent, they are more open-minded about plastic surgery. And what we are noticing is that the surgeries are mostly cosmetic and voluntary. So people do them not because their health depends onthem, but because they often see them as a life stylebenhancement." According to independent research carried out by the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Southern Africa, the local market is in line with global trends because over the past 10 years it has seen an increase of 780percent in non-invasive procedures such as botox injections and a 128 percent increase in breast procedures.

Association spokesman Dr Chris Snijman said a growing number of people had been able to have cosmetic surgery because of cheap pricing. "Cosmetic surgery in South Africa is among the most affordable in the world," he said. According to First Health Insurance (FHI, a company that financesplastic surgery), it received applications to the valueof R100 million last year alone.

Jason Sive, the director of surgical finance at FHI, said that now, more than ever, South Africans who could not finance their procedures were willing to put up valuable items as collateral for surgery-related loans. "A lot of the people we deal with are people who are not able to afford the cost of procedures, or have only a fraction of the money to cover the cost. "Now they are willing to invest more in getting it done and are putting up the necessary collateral and going through credit checks to get these loans.

"It's important when people take out loans for cosmetic surgery that they take it for a long-term surgery, not for something they may want to changeeven before they have repaid the costs. We have hadlots of people who do that and it's not worth it." Due to the affordability of plastic surgery in South Africa, an increasing number of international tourists have been coming to South Africa for cosmetic procedures.

Hundreds of these so-called medical tourists flock to South Africa every year and often doso without fully disclosing the medical reasons for their visits.

Brother Of Oscar Pistorius Facing Homicide Charges

The older brother of Oscar Pistorius is facing culpable homicide charges, for hitting a female bikerduring a fatal car crash. Carl Pistorius is facing 15 years in prison for the 2008 incident.

Carl has been by his brother's side since the Olympian was charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day. According to police, Carl's alleged reckless driving led to the woman's death.

Ironically, Carl was due in court last Thursday (Feb.21), the same day that his brother appeared in front a judge in hopes of being freed on bail. The trial has been postponed until March .

Kenny Oldwage , lawyer for both brothers, acknowledged the legal issues following the older Pistorius, saying that he was involved in an accident "in which a woman motorcyclist sadly lost her life." He also added that "there is no doubt that Carl is innocent and the charge will be challenged in court."

A blood test confirmed that Carl was not drunk at the time of the accident. "It was a tragic road accident after the deceased collided with Carl's car,"his lawyer explained, pointing out that the the charges were initially dropped before being reinstated. The victim's family later came out in opposition to him not facing charges, believing that the situation was not an accident.

This bizarre addition to the Pistorius story, comes days after the lead detective on the 26-year-old's murder case was removed due to his own attempted murder charges .

Meanwhile, the father of Oscar's deceased girlfriend has spoken out. "It doesn't matter how much moneyhe has and how good his legal team is, he will have to live with his conscience if he allows his legal teamto lie for him," the father of the slain model said in an interview. "But if he's telling the truth, then perhaps I can forgive him one day. If it didn't happenthe way he said it did, he must suffer, and he will suffer … only he knows."

Oscar asserts that shooting 29-year-old Steenkamp was an accident. Believing that she was a burglar, he shot her several times through a bathroom door. He is also said to have bashed her head in with a cricket bat .

Goodbye to Ikeja Computer Village

As a follow up to the story on the relocation of Ikeja Computer Village, our correspondent, during a visit to Katangowa Market, along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, gathered that Katangowa is the proposed site where the Ikeja traders may be resettled. In terms of size, Katangowa is bigger than the Computer Village, as the market covers about 26 hectares of land with most of the traders dealing in second-hand clothes.

Katangowa shows a vivid picture of a disorganised setting. While the major entrance to the market from Lagos-Abeokuta expressway is almost taken over by street traders, a large portion of the market has been overtaken by refuse.

During the visit, some of the items seen on display in the market in large quantities were clothes, bags, shoes, curtains, belts and other textile materials.

Also, many women and young girls were seen selling vegetable, fish, tomato, pepper and other food items in the market. While most of the dealers in textile materials operated in small shops, those trading in food items displayed their wares on the sidewalk thereby disrupting free flow of traffic around the market.

At the back of the market, which leads to Saint Peters Anglican Church, there were structures serving as residential homes.

Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Olutoyin Ayinde, said measures were being put in place by the state government to rehabilitate Katangowa and thus fast track the relocation of the Computer Villagers traders.

On if there are underlying interests within the ministry to handle Ikeja project, he said, "This is not a direct labour project, so there is nothing like personal interest. Financial challenge made some companies that expressed interest initially to back out, but we still have those who submitted their proposals with us.In order to select a credible firm with the required financial capability and technical-know-how to handle the project, we have engaged a Transaction Advisor, who will look at the request for proposals from bidders and give government expert advice on the best company to engage. So that the project, when finally awarded, will be well executed.

The government is methodical in approach by following due process. This is what people should appreciate".

Are we meant to be waiting for a collaboration between them? Or this is just a normal hangout with no music attachment?

Fingers crossed.

Why Late Justus Esiri Never Used Stage Name

The late Nollywood icon, Justus Esiri might have lived by the axiom that a good name is better than silver and gold.

A performer will often take a stage name because his/her real name is considered unattractive, dull, unintentionally amusing or difficult to pronounce or spell, or because it has been used by another notable individual or because it projects an undesired image. Sometimes a performer adopts a name that is unusual or outlandish to attract attention.

Love for motherland, roots and family, strict influence from his German training schooled late Nollywood veteran actor, Justus Esiri, to refrain from taking a stage name throughout his career. For over four decades that he lived and breathed theatre, Esiri stuck to his given names.

It could not have been any different for a man who learned the tricks of the Thespian trade in the conservative and largely discriminatory environment of Germany. He understood the need to retain his identity and not be subsumed by a sobriquet. In the days that Esiri trained in Germany, the Germans were known to be in fierce ideological and philosophical competition with the English-speaking countries of Europe and America. Therefore, any mannerism that tended to give the impression of apeing America was frowned at. American and British entertainers are particularly famous for adopting stage names.

Having attended the Maximillan University, Munich, German, 1964 and Prof. Weners Institute of Engineering, West Berlin, 1967, he was set to become the quintessential Nigerian 'big man' on account of his study of engineering. However, in a twist of fate, while working a casual staff at a theatre company in Germany, the acting bug bit him hard. The pull was irresistible. Being one to follow logical steps, he enrolled at the Ahrens School of Performing Arts in1968. For so many years, he was the lone black face in a challenging environment that did not think much of people of colour.

Looking back, his resilience to continue with drama in Germany speaks volumes about the toughness of a man who was determined to live out his dream.

Again, coming from a famous Urhobo family in Abraka,Esiri, it must be said that Esiri was already used to certain comfort as his background would reveal. Born on November 20, 1942 in Oria-Abraka, Deltta State, Esiri attended Urhobo College Effurun in the then Bendel State, now Delta State.

He was an avid golf player. One of his younger brothers, Prince Albert McCarthy Esiri, is a well-know billionaire industrialist who owns one of the biggest, active polo clubs in Nigeria. Albert Esiri is the CEO of Ashbert Limited; Ashbert Beverages Limited, founder of Abraka Turf and Country Club, Executive Chairman of Ashbert Oil and Gas Limited and other business ventures.

He's played with over 120 ponies. He is the patron/founder of one of Africa's biggest polo teams, Ashbert Raiders, an award-winning team that has played successfully in major tournaments in Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil and the United Kingdom.

One of his sons, Dr. Sidney Onoriode Esiri is the dentist turned, pop artiste, who is better known as Dr. Sid. Previously signed to the defunct Mo'Hits Records, Dr. Sid's playful, fun song, 'Pop Champagne' shot him into limelight. Another younger brother of his, George Esiri is a famous international photo-journalist who works out of Abuja for Reuters. The fame of his family was also a major consideration for his refusal to take a stage name. Because he valued his name so much, Esiri was never in the news for sordid deeds. In a profession steeped in immorality, it is a glowing statement to his uprightness that his career was scandal free.

The same consideration for his eminent background, informed why Esiri's illness could not be turned into a pity party, demanding donations to save his soul from public spirited Nigerians. His death last Tuesday at 70 years was, therefore, a shock to millions of Nigerians who connected with him as one of Nollywood's leadingmen. This proud family disposition was confirmed midweek when Dr. Sid there was no reason to cry over his father's demise. He felt the late actor had reached the famed Biblical age of 70 years and lived a good life. It was a clear indication that his funeral will be a celebration of his life (and going by Dr. Sid's song, it will be an opportunity to pop champagne).

Top Nigerian movies stars have paid their tribute to late Nollywood actor Justus Esiri who died on Monday night at the age of 71.
Below are some tribute rendered by top Nigerian movie stars.

Segun Arize – He was a figure to me. It is so bad. Uncle Justus Esiri was a figure and a great motivator tous. He left a legacy that need to be sustained. Justus Esiri contributed his quota to the growth of the industry. It is a very bad news, we will miss him.

Joke Silva – Justus Esiri mentored me
What do you want me to say about the death of uncle Justus Esiri? I am really confused and devastated. I started career with him. It is so depressing. He lived a fulfilled life, he loved his job and he was also a gentleman. We thank God that he achieved what he supposed to have achieved in life. At least, he has a son who is a superstar. I acted with him in the early 80's though I cannot remember the title of the movie now. It is all about how well he has lived.

Foluke Daramola – Our veterans are not catered for
I am feeling very sad about what is happening to us. I have been on set with Justus Esiri in movies like "Everyday People" where he was my father. I am not happy the way our veteran actors are dying. It is a great lost to the movie industry. I strongly believe thatour veteran actors are not catered for properly. I want to create an avenue, in collaboration with some of my colleagues where we can run a programme that will bebeneficial to our surviving veteran actors.

A Clearer View Of Tonto Dike's Tatoo

Tonto Dikeh who made her début in Nollywood few years back is naturally fair in complexion. But despite this, the controversial actress has gone ahead to tone her skin in a manner that makes her to look like a 'weird beauty.'

Her fans are expressing fear that the actress whose green veins have become so obvious through her now thin-layered skin, may soon break down with a skin disease.

Speculations are also rife that Tonto may have gone through a whitening machine to get her skin whiter than normal.

WG learnt from a tweet bird that despite Tonto's denial that she'd stopped smoking, the actress is still secretly smoking her thing. A concerned fan of the actress expressed her fear this way: "This girl will not kill herself."

Eva's Touching Tribute To Goldie

How do i begin this? It is already too difficult to talk about you using words like 'Was' when i really want to say 'is' and 'Would have been' when my heart whispers 'Would be'.

This is absolute insanity. How one minute you are here, vibrant, happy, excited about all the work you have mapped out for 2013.

How you stayed cheering me on, telling me how you admire me, how you want to be there to help, you stoop low enough till I can hop on your back and bear my weight on your shoulders, regardless of the luggage you already have on yours.

Isn't it ironic how everyone hated you for this and that, when all you ever wanted to do was entertain them. What's sad? They still have something bad to say even in your absence. I am sad! You were here before me, and when i stepped my skinny legs in this wicked place to explore my music, You were one of the few out doing something different. You stood out like yolks stand out of egg whites.

How you handled this evil, self-centred, 'I-have-only-bad-things-to-say' people for as long as you did is what baffles me.

You exhibited such strength, such outstanding emotional stamina that it seemed like you could do all wrong in their eyes and still stand, here, entertaining us from the bottom of your heart.

We had a conversation to finish Goldie!

Remember? Now i feel like i would never be able to tell you what really happened contrary to what everyone thinks. I remember the last time i saw you, you were so mad at me for not telling you about me leaving the Label. And with good reason too! You hooked it all up didn't you? So Goldie. Always ready to help. Sad when your friends are sad.

You said to me 'Ehnnn? Eva you are not signed? Isssaalie! Are they blind? Let me talk to —- for you sharp sharp. He just got this new deal mehhnn, you must rock it oh. I won't stop disturbing him till he signs you.'

And off you went! You took it upon yourself to make sure your friend asked me to sign with his label. And how so stupid I was not to have told you first the minute shit hit the fan. I hope the little I was able to explain to you was of any good. (sigh)

All that is gone now.

Even you are gone. Life is Crazy.

I am grateful today, that I had the pleasure of working with you Goldie boo, traveling, touring, doing shows with you. I loved you from day one! Fresh into the university and without a clue whatI wanted from life, there you were on my TV screen doing what most women didn't dare. Even I didn't understand you at first.

But I understood this one fact 'You were YOU!' And it hit me right there. I finally realized what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be me. ME! Without a care in the world what 'they' say as long as I am me. No compromise.

You didn't just inspire and motivate me, you have kept me here.

If it wasn't a phone call to find out if i was okay, it was a BB message to make me laugh my heart out.

My Dear Goldie, My sister, My friend…. I cannot ever answer the question why but I know that God never works without purpose. So i am not going to ask why either.

I am going through a lot right now, this is one of those times we would have had a BB conversation and you would have put my worrying mind at ease. But then I think about it, like you always noted, 'I haven't even scraped the surface of what you have'.

All the times you cried and carried the pain in your heart like an artery, all the times you thought about giving it all up and let your tears flood up your pillows like rain, they didn't see that. Yet the little they saw they hated. They mocked. Their shallow minds could not comprehend it. 95 per cent of these are the same who have turned around now in your passing to offer words of kindness that you longed for while you were here. Haha !isn't it amazing how they suddenly see how creative your videos were? Nwannem! Odikwa very strong tin!
Hmmmm….

You are gone now my love, as much as it kills meto type that out, I have to face it. If you are sitting on the right side of God our father, please beg him and intercede on my behalf while I Pray. As I go through the sort of things that you did, as I struggle to become somebody my parents are proud of, as I face this wicked place and its wicked people all by myself, as I say Goodbye to Friends who have become Foes overnight, as I stand in the midst of people who hate me for no reason and take it upon themselves like a day job to bring me down, intercede on my behalf dear Goldie. May the Lord answer my prayers…the same sort you prayed while you were here.

Thank you for letting me into your world even for a short time. What great blessing it is to have known the real you, the soft, kind-hearted, always-ready-for-a-good-laugh beautiful girl that you were.
I'm too sad.

Rest in Peace my friend, in the beautiful wonders of everlasting eternity where no one judges you.
