Woman Popped For Brutally Stabbing 80-Year-Old Resident And Her Dog During Robbery

Riverside police on Tuesday arrested a woman suspected of stabbing and beating an 80-year-old woman as well as stabbing a dog, authorities said.

The suspect was identified as Shannon Lynn Jones, 25, of Bishop. She was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, home invasion robbery, burglary,animal cruelty and vehicle theft, authorities said.

The victim was in serious but stable condition with multiple stab wounds and blunt-force trauma to her body after the attack Monday morning in her mobile home in a trailer park in the 4000 block of Pierce Street in the city's La Sierra neighborhood.

Police described the incident as a home-invasion robbery and said the woman's 1995 Toyota Camry was stolen.

The dog was stabbed Monday morning in a different mobile home in the same trailer park, according to police.

The condition of the animal was not released.

It's bad enough that she attacked a helpless elderly person…..but the dog too??? SMH!

Two Arrested In Acid Attack On Victoria’s Secret Worker In U.K.

Naomi Oni says she was on her way home from her job at a Victoria's Secret store in London when a veiled woman walked up behind her and threw acid, burning her face and arm and temporarily blinding her. Oni, 21, spent a month in the hospital after the Dec. 30 attack while doctors struggled to save her sight and did all they could to repair her damaged skin. A beautiful woman is now scarred for life.

Police are still struggling to understand why. The search for suspects initially turned on Oni, when police allegedly found evidence that she had researched acid attacks on her laptop. She told London's Evening Standard that she was "hurt and angry" that police were investigating her for self-inflicted wounds. "I've only just come out of hospital after having surgery on my eye," she said.

"To see this story saying that I'd done it made me soangry and really hurts. There's no way I would have done this to myself. I want the person who did this to be caught."
Now police have suspects. Two people – a man and awoman – were reportedly charged with causing grievous bodily harm in connection to the attack. Scotland Yard told ABC News it is not commenting on the case, beyond this statement: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident." Oni says she was walking home, chatting on the cellphone with her boyfriend when she noticed someone following her. The next thing she knew her face and arm were burning with acid.

She doesn't know what motivated the attack. "You can burn my skin," she says on a website dedicated to raising funds for her treatment, "but you can't burn my soul."

Did Davido Buy His New Single???

The internet is currently buzzing over Davido 's new single ' Gobe ' which he officially released yesterday February, 25, 2013 but that's not all that causing him to trend on social network Twitter .

Hours after the release, another version quite similar to the pop star's surfaced online so GISTBANK began snooping around and asking questions – apparently the same song also titled ' Gobe ' was released a year ago by an upcoming singer-producer named Password .

Password (who gained little buzz after featuring on Darey's 'Style na style' remix) had made online release for the same song in July 2011 but it seemed not to have garnered any buzz back then. Sources tell us Password who produced and wrote the first version of 'Gobe' allegedly sold the song to Davido for a sum of money possibly up to N500,000.

' Dude sold the song to Davido. He produced and wrote it, all of a sudden they are saying Shizzi produced it ', a studio rat and close friend to Password told GISTBANK in anonymity.

GISTBANK could not immediately confirm this story.

It isn't a big deal or something new though; song writers sell music pieces all the time.

Most times, producers, music composers and songwriters record original compositions and trade their songs to bigger artistes.

Examples are in the hundreds – US acts Ne-Yo, The Dream, Frank Ocean, Stacy Barthe, Keri Hilson are all credited to have written some of the biggest songs of the past decade. And on the home front we have former Cobhams Asuquo protege Omolara (who wrote Chidinma 's ' Kedike ' and Praiz ' ' Rich and famous ) OJB Jezreel (who wrote 2face's 2004 hit 'Right here') to mention a few.

What however makes 'Gobe' peculiar is that it had been previously released as an official single.

Both parties have not been responsive to queries over the matter but after numerous comments were made on music blogs and social networks Twitter and Facebook about the stunning similarities between the songs, Davido and Password are now very vocal on Twitter about the matter.

' They noticed people had found out, it's like Password didn't tell Davido that he had released the song before he sold it '.

Davido was smart enough play along. he tweeted; Big ups 2 @iamshizzi and @iam_password for such a great combination of work for GOBE! More stuff 2 come HKN!

Password was also very co-operative as he also tweeted in support; The song Gobe was officially replaced by @iam_davido hu co-wrote on d new version and I @iam-password is very happy and satisfied.

HKN in-house producer also tweeted; Follow my gud friend @iam_password and thanx to him and d inspiration we all put into gobe! Cc"@iam_Davido .

Davido's Father Builds Creative Art Department In Babcock University.

They say the biggest legacy a parent can leave for his-her children is education.

Every parent no matter the circumstances strives hard to live up to that statement and so is Nigerian billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke who seems hell bent on seeing one of his sons David 'Davido' Adeleke attending and graduating from University like every other child.

The last two years have been a handful for Davido – he didn't just make a very successful debut in the Nigerian music scene but accelerated to the A-list spot, something that has taken other A-listers years to achieve. He's released a debut album with chart topping singles, won international awards and performed in and out of the country, what else could he ask for?

Well, Davido isn't doing the asking, his father is; more like demanding. GISTBANK sources say Mr Adeleke wants his son to enrol in a University and graduate with a degree.

And to make that happen, he has reportedly built an entire department at Babcock University (where he is currently a provost) for Creative Arts which will have Davido and his manager Kamal as the only students for now.

We're told he has also bought a dedicated car which take the boys to and from school as they work to combine academic commitments with show business.

Davido and Kamal (who had to go back to school because of Davido's father's insistence) are using the opportunity to bond,a source tells us.

It is also likely his celebrity cousins Bayo 'B.Red' and Sina 'Sinarambo' Adeleke will be joining them soon.

'Davido's dad believes a lot in his music and HKN. He thinks David can take it to the next level but he also feels education is compulsory foundation for his son', a source to the family tells us.

We learn he has been helping to put up necessary structures that'll ensure the boys don't mess things up. For starters, Mr Adeleke insists on meeting with everyone working with his son.

And the young pop star has so far been co-operative.

Davido's mother Vera, an educationist herself was until her death in 2003, a lecturer at Babcock University.

DreamWorks Animation Takes $87 Million Charge for 'Rise of the Guardians,' Confirms Layoff Plans

DreamWorks Animation said Tuesday it will take an $87 million charge for the poor performance of Rise of the Guardians , a film with a $145 million production budget that has scored just $302 million worldwide since opening in November. The company also will take a charge of $54 million for returning Me & My Shadow to development, a $20 million charge to write off other projects in development and another $4.6 million in restructuring charges.

The studio also reported losing $83 million, or 98 cents per share, in the most recent quarter on revenue of $265 million.

Analysts had expected the company to lose about 3 cents per share in the quarter, reversing a 29-cents-per-share profit a year ago. Revenue was expected to sink to $213 million from $219 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Last year's DWA releases Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and Rise of the Guardians did not come close to matching the financial results of its Kung Fu Panda 2 and Puss in Boots in 2011.

DreamWorks Animation has been going through a rough patch, and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg confirmed that there will be layoffs this year, primarily within production groups. Katzenberg didn't say how many people would lose their jobs, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that DWA could lay off up to 400 people at its Glendale-based studio.

Katzenberg, citing something Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said when he was President Barack Obama 's White House chief of staff, said the layoffs are an attempt to "take full advantage of every crisis you face." Therefore, he will "right-size the whole enterprise" to make it more lean and profitable.

The company said three weeks ago it was delaying the release of Mr. Peabody & Sherman by four months and that Me & My Shadow has been yanked from the schedule indefinitely. Katzenberg said Tuesday it was at the "strong suggestion" of distribution partner 20th Century Fox that Peabody& Sherman was being delayed to a date less competitive for family releases.

Katzenberg, in fact, said during a conference call with analysts that release dates were of monumental importance nowadays with so many family movies, including live-action films, scheduled in the marketplace.

"We just have to be more flexible and more strategic," he said.

The executive said that while box office for Rise of the Guardians was "certainly a disappointment," he was happy with the entertainment value of the film.

Madagascar 3 accounted for $95.2 million of revenue during the quarter, Puss in Boots was at$10.5 million, Rise of the Guardians came in at $6.1 million, and Kung Fu Panda 2 was good for $4.8 million. Library titles contributed $63.4 million; holiday specials, live-theater productions and other properties accounted for $53.1 million; and Classic Media was good for $31.6 million.

Shares of DreamWorks Animation have declined 6 percent in the past three weeks. On Tuesday, the stock was off 1 percent to $16.61 and an additional 2 percent after the closing bell.

As their relationship progresses, the lady said the actor started pressuring her to see him and she has been rejecting the offer.

The lady claims Yemi Solade got really upset and sent her a scary message that she will die if she refuses to see him.

The message got her really scared and she sent out a Blackberry announcement to few friends and relatives.

Ailing Nigerian actress Ngozi Nwosu has left the sores of Nigeria for Germany for her highly needed medical treatment .

According to her publicist, Seun Oloketuyi, Ngozi Nwosu left Nigeria on Tuesday night for heart transplant surgery and kidney disease treatment in Germany .

Contrary to false report that she travelled to the United Kingdom, we can authoritatively confirm that the actress indeed travelled to Germany.

Last year, the ailing actress appeared on Who want to be a Millionaire show and with the help of notable Nigerians and her volunteer publicist, Seun Oloketuyi, the organizer of Best of Nollywood yearly awards and Lagos state Government, Ngozi Nwosu was able to gather all the fund needed to commence her treatment abroad.
